Some mighty bitter people thoughtlessly post some silly, aggressive and even nasty things lately. For some reason, it seems easier to be nasty at a keyboard than across the dinner table. Civility and consideration for others seems to have gone the way of the buggy whip.
Stick around Ivan. Don't despair. Plenty of Americans still like the Brits.

Sorry to see you go. It was always refreshing to receive a non-biased report from the UK about world events, not sullied by the slant of the US MSM.

Australia has been a better ally against terror and Australia is always dumped on by the English. Thanks to Blair and the UK that whole nation is veering dangerously leftward and tilting Muslim. The anti Semitism/anti Israelism is madly high over there amongst educated people right and left..
But I thank Great Britain for it's troop commitment to Iraq. We shall see what comes of this

I try to read all your posts because they provide a unique perspective. Having been raised abroad, the one thing I do know is that the US has no better friend in this world than the UK.
I do not understand the vitriol here about the UK in general based on the fact that many in the UK opposed the Iraq war since many in the US did the same.

We all take a bit of a beating around here but I can't say I've ever really pondered leaving FR. I suppose I would take the abuse a bit more personally if these attacks were aimed at my country.
Still, it's his time. He can spend it anywhere he likes. God bless him.
