Pleanty of Americans DO like Brits.

Sadly, there are a lot of people on FR who have NOTHING but vitriol for our ally Great Britain and Brits in general. A lot of what gets posted is simply VILE.

They confuse what they hear in the British media with what the Brits themselves think.

How would these posters feel if all Americans should be judged by what The Slimes reports or what is shown on VH-1?

I don't blame him one bit for leaving.

Yeah, it's getting pathetic. In many cases we can't have a decent discussion about preserving life, what is realistic in our current political arena and RINO's etc. without having a full out GOP bash. They with blinders on can't see the big picture...sure, I'm not happy with open borders, illegals sucking the teat dry etc., however, change like this takes time.

The disgusting dems didn't get it this way overnight, it took 50 years...

Later, MadIvan, stiff upper lip, pip-pip cheerio!

For some reason, it seems easier to be nasty at a keyboard than across the dinner table.

I call it "Keyboard Rage". Misery really does love company.

Sorry to see you go. It was always refreshing to receive a non-biased report from the UK about world events, not sullied by the slant of the US MSM.

Take care, lurk on this board, and please come back.

Some posters have been pretty vicious about all Europeans lately... including the Brits.

So? That's what FR is all about. Debate.

Hmmm...well reading though this thread, I believe you are in the minority on that one my friend.

And this issue has not been posted elsewhere as a thread, I simply started this one to draw attention to Ivans post on another.

What's the problem with that?

Its not just against Europeans either. The state of Florida has taken more than its fair share of bashing, it gets tiring. There seems a need among some here (trolls, bigots, whomever) to lump people into groups like that. Behaviour I am used to seeing among Liberals. I use to bash California like that as well, until I realized how childish it was.

Australia has been a better ally against terror and Australia is always dumped on by the English. Thanks to Blair and the UK that whole nation is veering dangerously leftward and tilting Muslim. The anti Semitism/anti Israelism is madly high over there amongst educated people right and left..

But I thank Great Britain for it's troop commitment to Iraq. We shall see what comes of this

I'm not particularly fond of the Brits, but I liked MadIvan's posts and comments. I thought he was one of the good guys. I don't understand why people think that the whole world hates them when they, or in this case, their country gets criticized. Let's face it, Britain backed us in the war for their own good too. Other than that it's a socialist country. Accept it or change it.
