Perhaps some of you would like to wish him well.

If "to kill wrongly" doesn't mean murder to you, then I guess its not for you. My guess is most folks equate "wrong to kill" with murder but technically she was lawfully killed according to Florida law, which makes it a worse offense than murder.
Folks have come to expect it of such as us.
It's the one's who just snap and turn @0 in an instant that cause such turmoil.
I think it makes 'em nervous somehow ...
Yeah, it was hefty. To be honest, I can think of a rather large number of that purge who totally deserved it.
The subject is an important one, and I'll agree with anyone who says that nothing is being effectively done in D.C. about it. The problem was that many of those were obnoxious on that subject, and injected illegal immigration on threads where the topic was nowhere near it.
Talk about the NFL, someone would throw in illegal immigration after they told us that could care less about the NFL. Talk about barbecue recipes, another would threadjack it and make it about illegal immigration. Some even went so far as to bait others into it (particularly Jim Robinson) by posting a vanity on the subject!
That stuff was unreal.

I don't post so much but whatever your reason, sorry to
see you go. Been a long road. Best wishes.
You should take a gander at threads about American blacks. If it's a good thing, it may reach the 20 post mark. If it's negative, which they usually are, the usual suspects flock to it like flies do on my dog's poop.

Naa, you can't change. You bring a special flavor to the joint, like I always bring the seasoned salt and Tabasco!

It's all the same people. I call them The Overseers. They are forever talking about the "plantation". They also feel blacks will flock to the Republican Party if they can just get a copy of The Bell Curve into their hands. If you didn't know these people exist, you do now.
It used to be a LOT worse.
I call it the Ann Coulter/Michael Moore syndrome. People love zingers as long as they aren't aimed at them.
I don't, but you could be right. Shouldn't be a defacto litmus test though.
Ya, I got that. I read MadIvan's link and his thoughts/feelings. Sorry to see him go... a beacon of intelligence in an increasing tabloid mentality around here.
On to joesbucks
At the point John Robinson implemented the moderator system, the forum was changed. More to the point, the more radical views expressed regularly on FR in late 1998 until say Bush's cinching of the nomination, were thrown to the wayside.
And to find regular bigoted racist oneliners being thrown about daily, is not something most people want to experience on a daily basis. It's the marginal posters who throw the bombs and troll bait that is the worst problem. The other side is the complete swamping of Federalism as an ideal to uphold.
One at a time, each of the posters who argued voraciously and thoughtfully about Federalism have left FR, as their positions were undercut by Administration and Republican party bills and laws, omission of the acceptance of criticism of huge bills like No Child Left Behind, Presciption Drugs, RealID, etc. There's nothing worth fighting for ONLINE, when those in power have total disregard for what was once (Class of '94) the bedrock principle of the "Contract with America".
To wrap this rant up, the same reason the Tories did so poorly last night, their inability to argue truly Conservative principles in a united front, instead opting to argue "We're less Socialist than the Socialists", lead to the flattening of intellectual opinionating on FR.
Bang! You put that perfectly. I'm gonna have to put that arrow into my quiver, if you don't mind.

I'm overwhelmed by what I'm seeing on my return...OK, I'll stay. :)
Regards, Ivan

First, I'm not arguing. I'm presenting my opinion.
Second, no, your premise of what I and others perceive as problems is wrong.
That must have been in the years '97 through '99.

That asshole. He needs to stay dead long enough for us to have a good cry.
Too many anglophobes here.
