in lexington, yes, people are out jogging. they just opened a HUGE golds gym 2 stop lights down from my office. Indoor pool, b-ball courts, track, the works. Lexington is a large city, lots of educated people, fairly affluent. paris and winchester are pretty dumpy and small for the most part, and quite a few residents are on the goverment doleno reason or ability to get up and excercise (apart from walking, of course, but then who would watch their TV for them if they were away.).

KY at one time was in the top 10 in the nation for COPD, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and teenage pregnancy all at the same time. But, it makes my day easier. I'm relatively healthy, so I can get in and out of the stores so much quicker than the rest.

That is if you can get AROUND them... :-)

I bet fast-food restaurants are very profitable there.
