The inlaws took the kiddies tonight .. I was FREE and what did I do??
Fell asleep trying to read a book
I think I need a life .. *L*
Well .. it starts with .. We got a new cat
Her name is Blue Belle
Ok .. well the girls were slacking on their grades after the Christmas break .. I got them to get the grades up through threats :0) .. but then the girls went back to their same old lines .. I studied at school
So then I said that if the aced their finals and got their grades up on their report cards .. that I would let them get a cat
Well that work .. Dana got mostly A's and Jess got A's & B's
Soooooooooooo .. off kitty looking we go
I went to this one place that my sister and my vet recommend ... it's a rescue shelter for cats
The women that took care of the cats was real anal and wanted me to sign a legal document to this, that and anything else she could think of
One was about not declawing the cat
I said, that I didn't have a problem with that, but what if the cat starts slicing and dicing up my kids and I have no other choice
The response I rec'd was ... This is a legal binding contract
The best part was the look she gave and tone of voice as though, how dare you choose your kids over a cat
After rolling my eyes ... we left and went to the mall and the pet store there .. nice kittens but they wanted $160 for one kitten
I wasn't willing to spend that much .. so off we go to the SPCA which was 30 minutes away in rush hour traffic
As I get there .. the chic in a convertible with the top down and Kerry/Edwards stickers pulls right next to my car with the Bush/Cheney stickers ...
As she gets out of her car and notices my Bush sign on the window and gives me a look
She then proceeds to lock up her convertible with the top STILL down
Mike said she should have been a blonde :0)
OK .. so I go into the SPCA .. but no kitty are there .. to try again later
The girls were really bummed by this point
Soooooooooooo .. I said, we would go check out the pet store near our house
After being stuck in traffic for what seemed like FOREVER getting back home .. yep .. that pet store had kitties and Jess fell in love with this one
This one cost $130 .. but by this time .. I was to tired to care and ended up saying ok
She is a pretty good cat and Kelli (our dog) seems to not be too upset about her
The fact that Kelli has really bad hips and can't get up an chase her helps a little too
The hamster? ... well it took a few days before he stopped freaking out *L*
Our cat goes out at night (we live in a rural neighborhood, big lots, with neighbors who love our cat) and one of us lets her in every morning. She comes up to the doors on our deck and waits to be let in.
I usually get up earlier, but right now I'm so paranoid about the back trouble, that Linda did it this morning. Our cat promptly comes into the bedroom jumps up on me, lies down and starts licking me.
Some body likes me......
She's a great cat (LL calls her the perfect cat), sad watching her getting older now.
So true.......these people are so awful.
LOL .. I got a pretty good chuckle watching this chic .. idiot
This cat will be in inside cat, to many busy roads around me .. plus there are a few neighbors who don't like cats
And the kids would be really heart broken if anything happen to her.
Right now she is batting around and pouncing a one of the hair gadgets that belong to Carly .. she manages to keep herself entertained
Sorry to hear about your back .. what happen?
Wasn't pretty.
I've had them .. Gosh they hurt like hell too .. It was back when I was pregnant with Carly .. I cried like a baby aver time it happen
Hope you feel better soon
I didn't cry.....just screamed in agony...

Here in TX, if one has no traffic violations over the past four years, the state sends out a renewal by mail form: I renewed my father's license for another four years, and I wouldn't trust him to back out the driveway, but he was thrilled to have his license anyway.
Good luck with it.
Morning, everyone.
Good stuff on the freemason/zot/kitties/darks in the hot tub thread...thanks.
Great cat story, Mo. Thanks.
Next time, just look in the classifieds - there will be hundreds of kitties looking for good homes, for free, with no stupid binding contracts.
Enjoy your new home, Blue Belle. (A great name for good ice cream)
I don't keep up with Nascar. I'm looking for something kinda close to home. No, it wouldn't need to be a big race. We will be in Kentucky and Tennessee. They have truck and tractor pull things here on occasion. He would probably like that too.
Thanks for the ping Mo. I sent this one on.
You could have come to my house in a few weeks for a kitty. Dyan's is having a litter...:( We will not only have Dyan and Devin living with us, but a dog, cat and a litter of kitties.
Oh my head...and a few other things...
I posted this on the pinged thread by mistake.. Think my mind is a bit scrambled..;)
Oh...cute kitty.
That is what SHE wants you to think. She only looks innocent. That cat is trouble on the paw, as any cat person can tell you. See that squinty look? She has already made her assessment and is now making psychic modifications in the environment that are more to her liking. The most receptive of the children (this could include Mike) will become her spokeshuman. The dog is toast.
.
I love it Libby, and I think you nailed it!
She sure does have that cute factor down...always a dangerous sign.
OK .. let me check with Mike and I'll let you know what I find out
There should be lots of races I'm sure I can find that he will like
LOL!!
So far the cat and dog have an agreement ... to keep away from each other
The Hamster? ... he is NOT happy about the cat
And the cat will delight in tormenting the poor creature...if only by keeping him psyched out.
LOL!!! ... you should have a fun house this summer
