90° several days in a row with more to come.

We haven't had a decent summer here for three years, so I'm not going to complain. Plus the water is here to cool us down anytime we want.

Don't mind it near water.......but if I weren't, I'd choose cold over hot anyday.

Roger that. Sometimes it's high, it has been lately and will be for a few more days.

It's not like Texas though, and I'll take it over Floriduh or the Southwest anyday.

My stupid twenty-three year old nephew is in the Army Reserve and is now in Iraq on deployment. He is married with a three year old son. But, he won't be married for long and his wife will inform him when he comes home for his fifteen day leave this month.

His wife and family got him a computer for Christmas so that he could communicate with them and send pics. Well, he accidentally sent a private letter and included everyone on his address list. This woman contacted his wife and wanted to know who she was. The facts came out that my nephew started an affair while he was stationed in NJ for training before being shipped out to Iraq. It was not a fling, either, as the woman had invited him to meet her family believing him to be a single man. Ha, she even sent the wife pictures and letters.

My poor nephew does not know what is going to hit his head when he comes home.

Yes, he does deserve it, methinks. I actually posted this info on another thread talking of the divorce rate in the military rising as the result of so many deployments. But, most on this particular thread take it as meaning the left behind spouse is the cause of the breakup of a marriage while the husband/wife is in combat.

Idiots.

Anybody up?

I'm going in a little late today. Okay, I'm probably going IN a lot late today. At 10, I'm going to court to see what happens at the pretrial of the SOB sex perp that abused all these kids I told y'all about. He's only being charged with rape on one of the little girls, because he didn't "confess" to the others and there is no forensic evidence. Add to that the fact that our worthless less than worthless "prosecutor" seems to have a fondness for perverts. I expect I'll come home mad as h*ll because I just know they're going to get him to plead to a lesser charge or try and get him off altogether based on "mental defect." I hope court won't drag out too long because I have to write a bunch of court reports today. I have the court docket from hell coming up on the 20th and my reports need to be filed by tomorrow. It's going to be a long day...even if I don't make into the office at all.

I finally broke down and turned the AC on last night. It was like an oven in here. I could've lived with it for a few more days I think, but poor Nermal was dragging and I figured it was probably that the heat was getting to him. I like having the fresh air for as long as I can, plus I also hate to run the air unnecessarily, but I don't like being too hot either.

This new case I've got is going to be "interesting." This is the second mom in a row the same age as Dawn. That makes it both harder and easier to deal with in some ways. The only reason we ended up with her kid is that she decided to show herself after testing positive for meth on a drug screen. She's holding the kid and screaming and cussing at everybody saying what she will and won't do and was completely out of control. We had to call the cops and she pretty much told them to pound sand, too...although in a little more "colorful" language. Not a good idea. All this time, she was refusing to allow the child to be removed from the middle of the situation. She ended up going to jail and we ended up with the boy. She's pregnant and doing meth. Real smart. After court yesterday, I had to sit down and interview her. This little b*tch is all attitude and no sense and I told her she'd better can the attitude because it wasn't going to help her case. She told me she didn't care about my opinion, she just wanted her kid back. I told her she'd better care about my opinion because it was my opinion on which the judge would be basing his decisions as to when she would get her son back back and under what conditions.

I can deal with just about anything a person tells me about themselves, no matter how bad it is, if they're honest and don't give me attitude. I let them know upfront that I can be the best friend they have in these situations, but if they give me attitude or I catch them in lie, they're going to have a lot more problems than they want. This one is going to be a real PITA.

A couple of nice songs, an oldy and a new one:

*Music*

If you're travelling to the North Country fair
Where the wind sits heavy on the borderline.
remember me, to the one who lives there,
She was once a true love of mine.

*Music*

Out Of The Woods by Unknown

I wish you out of the woods
And into the picture with me.
I wish you over the moon,
Come out of the question and be.

Chorus

If this is going to
Run around in my head
I might as well be dreaming,
Run around in my head.

I rollercoaster for you.
Time out of mind
Must be heavenly.
It's all enchanted and wild,
It's just like my heart said
It was going to be.

Chorus

The first one is a duet with Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The second is by Nickel Creek, and is beautiful. Maybe Loddy will download them for us to start this hot day.
