AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1564) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | May 2, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 05/03/2005 4:31:41 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Vice President Cheney stated yesterday that Al Qa'eda had been hurt since the 9/11 attacks, but was still actively recruiting members to perpretrate attacks on the American homeland.

The search continues for the pilots of two planes lost over Iraq. It is believed the planes collided during operations in bad weather.

In Pittsburgh yesterday, police arrested a deaf-mute man for shooting his deaf-mute sister and his deaf-mute brother-in-law for attempting to move his deaf-mute parents.

And the media did finally get around to commenting on Laura Bush's performance before the National Press Club. The headline of the op-ed piece in the NY Times went thus: LAURA BUSH TALKS DIRTY. The content of the article lived up to the billing--a total hit piece.

The leftstream media cannot buy a clue to find a clue as to how to get it. They are hopeless.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

That would be why President Bush imposed tariffs on foreign steel imports would it?

What's that got to do with the subject at hand? Or did we FINALLY get to "it's George Bush's fault"?

Funny, first you're whining about global warming, and now you're talking about tariffs on steel.

Ever see the quality of some of the 'steel' that's being imported into the US?
Let's just say that I wouldn't want to build a ship out of some of it if I had to trust my life to it.

Yes.
He finally got to that, though he hasn't said it outright yet.
Give him time, he'll say it.

Either that, or stick his nose in the air and say that all Americans are evil imperialistic cowboys.
*snort*

I bet five more posts will do it for him.

"If that's the case, why did everyone else ratify it after the US pulled out?"

Look at your own attitude towards teh US to figure that out.

No, you brought it up.
You were speaking about global warming, I mentioned how business reacts to regulations since you implied that business complies due to teh 'rightness' of doing so, and then you went on about steel tariffs.
YOU brought it up.
DO try to be HONEST for once in your life.

REAL-ly.

Looking over your posts, it would put the lie to your statement.

"The Kyoto treaty is a bad treaty, it is designed merely 'to stick it to the US.'" If that's the case, why did everyone else ratify it after the US pulled out? Surely, if the sole point of the exercise was to take a swipe at the US, there'd be no point going ahead with it absent that US ratification.

I would offer a course in Logic 101 is needed here.

Signing up to the treaty AFTER the US pulled out is exactly a way to stick it to the United States. It is the notion of trying to win in the court of public opinion what they weren't able to do at the bargaining table.

Besides, Great Britain, having signed up for the treaty, can't even make its goals. It's so bad, PM Blair is reduced to pleading with the United States to have it sign on in the hopes that: (1) there will be someone worse off than they in meeting targets (get the public someone else to swipe at, and the US is a good target); and (2) they will be able to argue while they didn't meet goals they would be able to reduce the world's issue overall by bringing the US on board.

BTW - a 40% hole is huge! Let's say: 40% of all vehicles that are purchased are guaranteed to have an accident. Go buy a car.

I happen to think that many alarmists are politically driven.

Still, there is evidence that the surface temperature of the earth is rising, and that the rate of increase is accelerating. I read that during the 20th century, the average temperature rose by more than a half degree Celsius. That doesn't seem like much, but continued increases could impact the world significantly.

Increased temperatures coupled with increased harvesting/ disruption of rain forests are certainly events which also can negatively impact the planet.

Greenhouse gases do effect the atmosphere and CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and certain refrigerants have (according to some) caused a depletion in the ozone layer. The resulting UV radiation can be destructive to humans and other living things.

Additionally, acid precipitation caused by sulfur and and nitrogen oxides can disrupt life cycles in diverse areas, mainly lakes and streams at this time of year.

I have been reading a bit about these things recently, but I am in no way an expert. Humans certainly are a part of nature, but IMO we are also intended to be custodians of it as well.
