You are correct. I have been ranting about this for several years. Bayh comes on local radio shows and talks fairly conservative. Then he goes to Washington and votes right down the line with Hillary and the rest.

He got elected because of name recognition and commercials which show him, his pretty wife, and his twin sons sitting on a front porch, filmed through gauze, while syrupy music plays.

He talks about "Hoosier values," but apparently his Hoosier values include voting against the Partial Birth Abortion amendment and impeachment for Clinton.

It has been a long time but I think that is basically what his Daddy did too, I mean the part about sounding conservative while actually being a radical liberal.

The thing that concerns me about Bayh is that he sounds reasonable and rational ... meaning that he doesn't come across as either a raving lunatic or a total airhead. I wonder how many people who don't follow the political scene closely could be taken in by his demeanor without ever bothering to find out where he stands on issues. I refer to the kind of people who get their news (and shape their "political views") from Leno and Letterman.
