There's always the Areana League. Worked out well for Kurt Warner...

Meanwhile, USC's back-up QB, Matt Cassell, who has thrown a grand total of 35 passes in his collegiate career was drafted in the 7th Round by the NE Patriots.

I'm sure he's a cool dude, but it appears that no pro team wants him. Two knees surgeries while in college.

Bummer for him, but thats life. No one drafted me either.

the basic issue is medical (two knee surgeries), with additional concerns over his size, arm strength, and while we're at it, his ability to win the big game.

But other than that..

I think you have already answered your own question. I think the injuries are the big thing but the pros really go in for a strong arm.

I'd suggest he consider a career in politics.

He needs to practice these words:

"Let me go back and talk to my manager and see what we can do..."

We had a similar situation down here in Texas a couple of years ago. Major Applewhite was coming off of a great college career as a starter, albeit one that was cut short due to Chris Simms being down here. He went undrafted, but did get a contract to play for New England. He quit during training camp and returned to Texas to help coach, although I don't believe it was a paid position.

This off season, he was hired by former UT defensive coordinator Greg Robinson to be the QB coach at Syracuse. Hopefully, something similar will happen with White.

Um, you're suppose to get an education while attending college.

Poor baby. If he weren't as dumb as a box of rocks, maybe his employment opportunities would be plentiful.

Non-athletic short-yardage passer with world-beaters around him at OU. Coming out this year had nothing to do with his not getting drafted. He should go to the CFL or NFLE and tear it up if he wants into the NFL.

Wow but its not really suprising considering that JW has had knee problems. Saw him in new Orleans as LSU destroyed them for the championship and wasnt really all that impressed. Still though if Maurice Clarett can get picked you would think that White could as well. Anywho, any LSU fans here? Check this site out.

He has a history of injury problems, he choked in the big game, and not many teams are shopping for QBs right now (as evidenced by one of the top prospects not going until 25). that's a formula for a QB to have to find another career. I suggest he head to the Arena league if he wants to keep playing, shine there and he could get picked up, worked for Kurt Warner.

I remember Danny Wuerfle (sp?) was the most accurate passer I have ever seen in college and I have never seen anyone take the punishment he did and just get back up and go again, yet he had a poor NFL career.

".. certain QB from Tennessee seemed to have that latter problem as well (ability to win big game) and it doesn't seem to have carried over into his pro career. "

Actually, Peyton has yet to win a season-ending 'Big Game' in his career.

Tennessee's national championship in '98 came one year after he left and since then, he's basically been owned by the Patriots in games that matter.

Footnote: Winning thousands of people Fantasy Football Championships doesn't count!! :)

Some Heisman Trophy winners shouldn't be drafted...Gino Toretta, for example.
