I used it twice today...why do I feel like a "snitch"?
Most times I use it, like today, its for language.
Am I wasting the Mods time or what?
I never expect a response from the Mod or expect what I report on to be acted upon...I use it simply as a, "Hey I saw this and maybe you should know about it" kinda tool.
Wow! In three and a half years I've hit Abuse maybe 8 or 9 times.
And half of those were on myself, either I messed up the post or I realized I went over the line "flaming" somebody ...
Yep, and then I had a cigarette. Gonna report me? ;-)
Ya know,
everytime I try to hit the abuse button,
I see and hear Gomer Pyle, with arms waving, shouting, "Citizen's arrest! Citizen's arrest!"

In all my years here, I have never hit the abuse button on anyone, or had it used on me.
I used it once today on swearing and another on a crude joke.
crude joke = hurtful to those with a disability.
I certainly dont feel like I'm a snitch or abuse the report abuse button...but I just wanted peoples thoughts on it.

That has stuck with me to this day 45 years later. When I see something removed by the mods, I think back to Susie Higgenbottom. It simply grinds my gears.

Like I said, I'd rather let it stand and let the poster be seen for what/who they really are. And what is offensive to me may not be offensive to you. If it's truly vulgar, it can be cleaned up. If it's crude or propaganda, it can be disclaimed. There's too much stuff removed from here.
Good point. I've never had a post pulled. The only reason I'm confident the abuse button hasn't been used on me is the fact I become even MORE polite when PO'd.
