I used it twice today.. Wow! In three and a half years I've hit Abuse maybe 8 or 9 times.
And half of those were on myself, either I messed up the post or I realized I went over the line "flaming" somebody ...

Ya know,
everytime I try to hit the abuse button,
I see and hear Gomer Pyle, with arms waving, shouting, "Citizen's arrest! Citizen's arrest!"

I infiltrated deep into the bowels of DU. Was one of their most prolific posters. Even went to a big DU get together in Florida and got laid by one of their hippiest type chicks. Folded that girl up into more positions than a swiss army knife. Paragraphs, dude. Paragraphs. Keep the "penetrating bowels" away from the "getting laid" talk.

If we were on DU, I'd have to. Smoking es Verboten, you know!

Wouldn't you rather discuss Monty Python?Mo, I would rather post a pic of an armored Caterpillar D9N Dozer. I know a whole more about dozers than Monty Python, moose and cheese. Well, maybe not more than cheese, but definitely more than moose.

In all my years here, I have never hit the abuse button on anyone, or had it used on me.

I used it once today on swearing and another on a crude joke.
crude joke = hurtful to those with a disability.
I certainly dont feel like I'm a snitch or abuse the report abuse button...but I just wanted peoples thoughts on it.
Thanks.

Why use "Post Reply" when "Report Abuse" gets the point across? :)
To: najida
When I was in first grade there was a girl by the name of Susie Higgenbottom. Susie was the class tattle tell. While to the best of my knowledge she never tattled on me, I literally hated her for her actions. Anything that happened, the first words out of her mouth were I'm tellin.
That has stuck with me to this day 45 years later. When I see something removed by the mods, I think back to Susie Higgenbottom. It simply grinds my gears.
To: MamaTexan
how would you know if its been used on you? you would only know if it had been acted upon.

Folded that girl up into more positions than a swiss army knife. Volunteered to be a mod and wreaked havoc on the site organizing the "Night of the Long Knives" when Freepers took over the sight and basicically shut it down after banning a lot of their oldest and most popular members."
That is the most awesome thing I have everheard of. LOL. BWahahahahahah!!

Like I said, I'd rather let it stand and let the poster be seen for what/who they really are. And what is offensive to me may not be offensive to you. If it's truly vulgar, it can be cleaned up. If it's crude or propaganda, it can be disclaimed. There's too much stuff removed from here.
To: wallcrawlr
you would only know if it had been acted upon. Good point. I've never had a post pulled. The only reason I'm confident the abuse button hasn't been used on me is the fact I become even MORE polite when PO'd.
LOL
