Yeah, that's mostly what I do. Unless it's an ungodly good deal.
The Dollar Store had Atkins Cinnamon Bun bars a buck a box...I bought 16 boxes. Those things are dang near $5 a box at Walmart! $16 may seem like a lot but it really is quite a savings! Like when I got those chuck taylors for $4 a pair...and I bought what? 13-14 pair? It was real expensive, but my youngest jedi is still wearing them and it's been years!
I can't pass up a good deal, IF it's something I'll get use out of. If I'm not gonna use it, it's not a good deal no matter what.
Check out the resale places; Goodwill, etc. Folks sometimes buy a wok, then find they don't want to bother with it. You could probably pick one up pretty cheaply.
