I'm not sure you have to have the green bottles. Just a simple google I found that it's mostly tradition because glass used to always be green. But other websites say that the UV rays would harm the wine. But that same website asks "why are you storing your wine in the sun?"

Exactly! I imagine I'd keep mine in the cupboard. The kit I want to get makes 23 liters.

Wonder how many little bottles that is...23000ml divided by 187ml...

That's 123 little bottles! Four months worth!
