That sounds interesting. We have a local community theatre, and something like "Contact" looks like a good production for it. I took Clare to see "To Kill a Mockingbird" there this year, and then took her Girl Scout Troop to see "Miss Saigon". Both productions were very well done.
It may depend on the standards of your community.
The first act was set in the 1700s, but it was basically simulated sex on a swing. No dialogue.
For the Richmond audience in the second act, the dialogue was edited to "Frickin'" which the guy said about five dozen times...
This ain't for the Girl Scouts.
