Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Back from the vet. Poor Scruffy had to get another injection for his arthritis.
I've got to find a less expensive place to buy the Rimadyl though. It comes out to almost $1.50 per pill! Three bucks a day adds up quick.
But how can I deny anything to this sweet face?

HAHAHA!!!
As soon as the bread is done, we're off to...
1. Eat lunch with Steve
2. Pick up my two wheels for the Beetle (1970 stock wheels, in better shape than mine)
3. Run by the library so I can write the letter to my ARNG friend. And so I can watch the Hitchhiker's trailer.

Thank you for the ping!!
Hope all is well for everyone.
I have a question for some people : are their any FReepers who are in the business of commercial produce growing? I have a reason for asking this, but not much time to explain. Suffice it to say, I am wanting to talk to some people about this for some research I am doing.

Woo-hoo! So you have tons and tons of time before your interview to get things set up.
One advantage of having the desk there is that you can plug your laptop into my surge-protecting power supply.
No problem with Mr. Mover-dude?

I still haven't lugged the shelves in yet, though.
Nope, no problem with the movers - they were nice.

Heh...not necessarily THAT nice.
And we didn't really chat much.
Now to spend the next few hours attempting to remain calm...

Not very authentic. We're really supposed to believe people sit that close to the front?

We did in the church I went to while growing up... but then it wasn't this "big", either.

My family sits in the second and third pew, and the only reason we don't use the front pew is that the organist and her family sit there, and the elders use it for Communion on those Sundays.
Now, suggesting that we voluntarily change pews, that would be the scandalous thing.

BTW, John Rob figured out a way to block those pictures. But I took the URL and emailed the site hosting them. Got a message back "This account has been banned."
It's a small consolation because the bastidge will only move on somewhere else. But still, it felt good.

Glad it worked out OK in the end!
Getting ready now. Still have awhile, but it'll give me something to do. Eek!
Not that it'll be much better afterwards, unless they immediately say "no thanks". I hate suspense...

Eek! is right.
Sigh, isn't it a lovely day? Wish I weren't stuck inside.
Oh, I don't think I took the dvd out of the player last night so if you're going to swap discs, check that.
