The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm with you on that one. Buses really scare me. I seem to have a knack for getting on the wrong one. Then spending a couple of hours figuring out transfers to get back to where I meant to go.

One time in college I took a late night bus downtown Seattle to take some night pictures for an art class. I stupidly thought they ran all night. Wrong. I was on the last bus at about 11pm. Next bus to get back to school was at 6am.

That was a looooong night.

It was pretty fun. Almost Star-Warsy. Some excellent scenes and a few groaners.

Well, I'm finally able to check in after seeing the movie and attending our homeschool banquet at the church, only to find that the only time anyone has pinged me to anything is I got pinged to the dose...twice for some reason.

We saw the movie.

Now I will tell you this to put things into perspective. Joshua is very tender-hearted as you know. If Puffy gets in trouble, and I ground her to the coop, he will be just heartbroken and sit out by the coop with her. That's just how he is, you know.

Ok, I won't say anything about the movie other than there is one part toward the end where Obi Wan is speaking with Anakin in a most distressed and woeful way. It's a terribly sad scene. That was the only scene that upset Joshua and he jumped up from his seat, threw himself into my arms and sobbed into the side of my neck.

It was a much more serious a movie than any of the others, but I didn't personally think it was all that great. The political stuff was very understated and easily dismissed, unless you're just wearing a chip on your shoulder.

All in all, just like the other five (the only one I really ever liked was the first one, the original Star Wars), I found it to be a fair movie.

However, Matthew LOVED it and that is as it should be imo...it's a perfect movie for a 9 year old boy.

Evenin' I'm not really here.

Long day at the Bored meeting. Then more crisis management at the pool. We ~may~ have it under control, but for several hours today we were thinking we weren't gonna be able to open...at all.

Saw "Contact" (Broadway musical) tonite. Interesting show. Not really material for our church productions tho.

g'nite

Hah! I did! Fortunately I had a lot of film with me. :-)

Almost got beat up and robbed at one point... but all's well that ends well.

Heh, well, I have to...usually she's picking on one of the other girls. Basically I separate her from the others so the others can have some peace. But to Joshua, that's being grounded...he's had experience being grounded and hates it...so he really feels a lot of sympathy for the bird when it's "grounded".

LOL!! It's a fun time around here....

If you don't ground your chickens, they'll get surges.
