You haven't spent a lot of time around Southern Baptists, have you? :)
OK - then you are hearby not allowed to guilt yourself over it another minute! :~D
Heh - I guess not ;~D
errr. hereby... there's nothing to hear ;~D
Heh....I've seen/heard people at restaurants order beer (apparently when their dinner partner(s) were in the rest room) and request that it be served in a softdrink glass so it wouldn't look like they were having a beer.
And then there's the tale of the two likker stores....
I used to do something like that...except in reverse.
Guys in Houston dance clubs would be trying to get me drunk...waitress would keep bringing me Cuba libras...'cept I'd had a personal word with her and they were really just cokes with a lime twist. She'd charge the guy for a Cuba Libra, pocket the extra cash, I stayed sober and at the end of a fun-filled evening of dancing, I'd drive myself home.
My name was Pam Ivey.
My phone number was Time and Temp.
Hehehehe....that'll larn 'em!
Well, thank you ma'am. I just got back from making a wine purchase and I must say, the pep talk helped. I actually thought I saw one of my fellow homeschooling ladies (in the obligatory denim jumper and white keds) and nearly busted out laughing. It wasn't her and I was kinda disappointed.
Really, I'm NOT doing anything wrong and really never thought I was. I know what I'm doing is ok. But I still don't consider myself a drinker. Not that it's right or wrong...I'm just not.
Now I'm gonna go get some chinese food, since the jedis are gone and I'm feeling lonesome.
Heh...I bet I was 18-19 years old...back then the legal drinking age (and when you could get in the clubs) was 18.
Many many times I'd excuse myself to go to the restroom and just never go back...
I never did like clubs. Do/did most of my drinkin' at dinner or at home and some social situations with friends.
Then there's me and my fellow Presbyterian brothers (and sisters) who are perfectly comfortable talking to each other about which wines we like best and what we want to pick up on our next trip to the likker store! :o
Having been raised by tee-totalling parents, it took me quite a few years to get over my inhibitions, but now I rather enjoy the freedom. Of course, I still refuse to let my parents see me indulging in such things...maybe someday I'll get over that hurdle. ;)
Hmmmm.....guess you could always bring a really stiff fruitcake over to your parents for Christmas. :)
Nope, didn't like 'em. The booze interfered with the choccy, as it were.
Oh boy...I don't think I want to try that!
The Presby church I've been going to out here uses actual-factual wine during communion!
My parents taught me to drink wine. I've picked up the taste for margaritas on my own ;-)
Mmmm! Cashew chicken.
Oh - you guys must feel guilty about something too... You're all utterly depraved ;~D
Mmmmmm........chocolate and likker....
How 'bout rum cake?
The old Hole hasn't changed much, has it, Pen...
Food and drink are the main topic of conversation! ;-)
