The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/21/2005 6:44:57 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm "rearchiving" all my old web writing stuff...I'm considering going on to Helm's Deep, but I bet I won't make it.

If I wasn't sitting up here at the desk, I'd be snoring too...

This evening I watched two movies, read half a book, and wrote 2200 words. I am going to really, really enjoy this summer.

Morning all!

It's a bit swampy here so I'm not planning on getting much yard work done. After breakfast I'll go put ssome samples on the instrument and maybe check out the plant sale at the arboretum. Then it's Flylady Day and maybe I'll get started painting the bedroom.

Good morning!

I'm gonna go to church on the bus and then wander downtown for awhile.

Just wish everyone else was a morning person. Last week...mostly I just looked in windows. No one opens until ten.

Good morning y'all :)

Looks like you have your days planned out.

Still don't know what I'm doing today.

Rain...

I have a book I wish you'd get...it's called The Encyclopedia of Country Living. It's the greatest book! It's by Carla Emery...and she's just my kinda person!

Teeheeee. I have a first edition - the one she self-published! :)

And it *is* the greatest book.

Good morning! I slept 'till I woke up. What a luxury!

Heh...so is Halvah now. Dunno why. Guess she's never adjusted to Mountain time.

She's upset now because the bottom of her bowl is visible. Better go remedy that...

Miss Peege is lounging in the sunroom watching the timid woodland creatures in the yard.

I need to get going.

My daughter enjoys that song about "lookie here, I've got a bite," not sure that I've ever heard it. It's cute, though. Thanks for posting the lyrics.

In upstate NY at the moment, at daughter's graduation, see you guys later. Take care, everyone.

Isn't she a kook! I think she reminds me of me...or maybe what I could of been had I had any self confidence in my early life and am now stiving for in the later years!

Good morning ladies! I slept like a sardine with the jedis for most of the night...the storms were loud and the rain poured. I don't know when Steve has come and gone, but there was a note by the coffee saying he's at this wetland. I'm taking him some scambled eggs and sausage as soon as the boys get up.

They grow up so quickly. Have a great time Sam, and give her our best.

You raised 'em well.

Might as well funkle...

Back to talking about the book...

If we do ever meet, be sure and bring yours and I'll bring mine...mine's the latest edition and huge! And she talks about her first book all through it. It is fun to just read.
