Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, the problem is they step in stuff and then track it onto the eggs. That isn't the only reason ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog; 2Jedismom
Well, FWIW, I wasn't questioning the ~need~ to wash the eggs. Just the fact that there's a product called an "egg washer."
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, it can get pretty gross, especially if it's been raining. If they're just filthy (very very rarely) I just go ahead and wash 'em real good and we eat them right away. Most of the time they're spotless. But we still wash 'em.
This place has a washer that looks like nothing more than a five gallon bucket you pour hot water into and then an air compressor bubbles the water! Seems like to me a foot massager, with the proper specifications, would bubble the water, keep the water warm and also vibrate the egg.
I wonder if the vibration would disrupt the integrity of the egg on the inside?
I'm gonna give it a shot with an Aldis egg in my footbath. BRB

Mine was $30, but it has two trays so it can do rice and a veggie at once. Once you eat properly steamed rice, you'll never go back...

Ok. Now my footbath is cheap and doesn't warm the water, nor does it have jets, it just vibrates. I've got the water in it and I'm gonna vibrate this Aldis egg for five minutes.

2J comes in, puts on her red Chuck Taylors and sings "Don't you dare be my neighbor..."

Well, the white and the yoke seemed to maintain it's integrity after five minutes of vibration.
So I think, with the combination of warm water (the egg carton site suggests 100 degrees, the foot bath is 104 degrees, close enough), jet swirling water, and vibration, along with the special egg wash detergent, the eggs should be good enough and safe enough to sell.

To: HairOfTheDog
Hmm, could there be a market for pre-scrambled eggs?

LOL!! It only has one setting for vibration....but I'll try another one for ten.
Here's the soap I'd be using...
http://www.eggcartons.com/item256.htm
Only requires about a half an ounce per gallon.

Heh!!
I'm just curious. I mean, these guys are trying to sell a modified five-gallon bucket that would do just the same thing as a foot massager for $200 (including the air compressor).

Tolerated 10 minutes of vibration with no visible change in yoke or white.
:-)
That's the most I'd ever do anyways.
