Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

And sure, you can dodge their attacks but they just don't stop coming.
The one good thing about them is they never brag about how they're the greatest at such-and-such and how unfortunate it is you met them, because if you'd met someone else, you might have lived.

I'll be having a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster or to with dinner previous to seeing, so I hope my enjoyment to be less discriminating than otherwise...

Soooo....I left early today to take the bed to Goodwill. They don't work with stuff like that, but they work with a medical supply company/charity that does. So it will get used. That's good.
Came home and did some yard work. Pulled a bunch of weeds, set out the rest of the glads and the caladium.
BUT, I found out whut the naybers is up to...
They took out the trees because they want to make the berm even bigger. Because he says, the water is coming over the berm where soil has washed into the ditch.
I got news fer him. Soil ain't washed into the ditch. Corin's been adding soil and mulch to his flower garden, because, maybe, just maybe I DON'T WANT A FLIPPIN DRAINAGE DITCH IN THE SIDE OF MY YARD.
None of this was a problem before these naybers and the ones before them started complaining about our trees. You take out 7 trees, you're gonna have some drainage problem. I continue to plant stuff to try to hold the water back. But they've let all their landscaping (which the previous owner paid thousands of dollars for) get all overgrown and grungy like.
I'll let 'em have their fun with the berm. But I'm gonna keep doin' what I'm doin'. And this time the berm better not come over on our property.

Google: "invasive species".... If it's wet, we've got some great stuff at the beach house we could send. Grows up like a tall bamboo like stalk, but 12" leaves like a dinner plate. And it grows to about 15 feet in a weekend.

On a side note, Former Clinton Administration Staffer swarms have been spotted migrating thru Colorado :)
Remember the stories of missing "W"'s in the West Wing and EOB after GWB's first inaugural?

I
am looking for a ground cover type something that can go in the flower garden as a ground cover of sorts and hopefully to choke out the wild strawberry.
And ideas?
