Good morning!
In his bid for reelection, Prime Minister Tony Blair is ahead. While some Brits are not to fond of Blair they are less fond of his opponents.

I think all of us can learn a lesson from this episode. We don't know all the machinations that go on in the Senate, and what we think will be effective is not necessarily the right answer.B I N G O ! ! !
To: Iowa Granny
Exactly. Although I am disappointed in Frist, I also remember that I was aggravated at Lott and wanted him out.
In retrospect, Lott was marginally more effective than Frist.
However, I don't know what Frist is having to deal with, nor do I know what the Rats are threatening privately.
So, I am assuming that I don't really have a grasp on anything going on behind closed doors in the Senate, and I simply have to hope and pray that Frist gets a grip on these things. Right now it does no good to undercut Frist. I hope he figures out a way to get around the Rats.

I hope he figures out a way to get around the RatsMaybe he could practice by nailing Jello to trees!

That bone fragment finally migrated it's way out of my jaw, and the relief is wonderful. I expect that I'll have a much better time up here now. It sorta took the Navy doc by surprise when he saw the size of the thing. Ouch.

LOL! You know, it amazes me that so many men are unable to stand up to criticism. I thought men were supposed to be tough.
To: Iowa Granny; Miss Marple
Off to bed. I just want to say that I like Frist as a Republican, but think he's been a little too weak-kneed in standing up to the RATS. I think it's frustrating for all of us, and throw in the persecution of Tom DeLay and it's reached a boiling point for some of us.

Oh, I am so glad you are feeling better! I hate all that tooth stuff; I am gong to have to deal with it later this year.
To: Bitwhacker
I just ordered a 160GB hard disk, a Pololu USB 16 channel servo controller, a LabJack U12 USB data aquisition module, a Garmin 18 GPS (serial), a USB WIFI dongle, and I'm now looking for a linux appliance similar to the Cyclades TS-100 (only with USB support).
Does it sound like I have a project? Or what? 8>)

Actually, it sounds like you've finally gotten your back pay!
So glad you are getting some relief with the dental issues. There's nothing anymore annoying than dental problems.
To: Iowa Granny
I expect to have a great weekend. It is looking like I'll get two nights in town, my dental issue is close to resolved, and I've got a few federal reserve notes in my pocket. I may even try the local brew this weekend.
Life is good, or I'm simple, or both. 8>)

I think x42 declared a national monument (Grand Escalante Staircase Monument) on top of the shale that has all the oil in it. A deal would have to be struck and the monument changed. I don't see that happening, we've got the most rabid powerful environmentalists out here...
To: tillacum
The shale oil and clean burning coal in Utah should bring in huge profits for that state. Now all Hatch has to do is get the clean burning coal out away from the National Parks hands that x42 put it in, so his friend Riady could have the clean burning coal monopoly. And the really rotten part is the land that x42 declared a national monument was promised to Utah's schoolchildren. It's the educational establishment in Utah that really loses and Utah's children.

Good morning UG, All. At least I slept more than I did night before last. Think I will get my 'sleep enhancement' pills filled and take them only when I am in dire need of them.
One step closer to getting that new tractor and SIL starts staking out the T post this afternoon THEN I go 'hoss' shopping for GD and goodness, the prices of saddles, maybe I can find a used one.

I have to admit, it is not exciting sitting here watching the second hand go around and round on my clock.

Good Morning, gc! Watching the clock makes it go slower, you know. My coffee this morning is tasting good, but my muscles are howling after all the yardwork I did yesterday. I'm working against the clock though because the weather man says we're getting rain, and you know the weather folks are never wrong. Right? LOL
To: Carolinamom
N-e-v-e-r! I remember when I had my boat and was less than a mile offshore and the weather man was saying how pretty it was, no rain or storms in the area and here I was hoping to goodness that the storm I was in did not swamp the boat.

SIL put a new belt on the finishing mower so I am going to cut grass here as long as I can, suppose to rain and storm here too. He gets off work at noon so we start staking out the fence line to put the T post down.

Did you see in Port Arthur TEX where 3 elderly women have been killed in their homes? Another was attacked but survived. The police 'suspect foul play'. Suspect?

You know, Toby, between your fence building, taking gd to school, shopping for a tractor, freeping, and helping your neighbors, you lead a very busy and productive life and surely are plumb wore out (Southern Speak LOL) at night. Yet, here you are up before dawn and ready to go again! Those 20 somethings could take lessons from you.
