So true, weegee. Believe it or not, I've changed my opinions on some matters as a result of posting here. Granted, not many, but some! But most of all I enjoy the ability to quickly break through the MSM filters as a result of all the experts and watchdogs we have here. I'm not sure that I've ever been able to contribute to that process, but hope so.

We (and FR as a site) would all do better to stop taking our eyes off the REAL enemy - the Left - domestic and foreign.

I returned to FR this week (with some lax posting prior to this) to post a "hit piece" from Houston's only daily paper to savage a critic of the Chronicle, the downtown corporate establishment (this was the paper that protected Ken Lay), and state's taxation policies.

What they were doing was very transparent, but those at FR might have been unaware such an attack was even launched as many Houstonian FReepers long ago cancelled their subscriptions and some have even tuned out on KSEV 700AM.

This same paper initiated "news" attacks on Tom DeLay YEARS ago (and an internally leaked memo tipped their hand).

I can certainly relate to that. It just seems to me that much of the vitriol and name calling hasn't been discouraged enough. And therefore they are tacitly encouraged. It isn't up to the posters to control the forum. But then that's just my opinion.
