God bless Benedict 16th!
No, I think he should hold his breath until that apology comes!
To be specific, the Holy Father refered to homosexuality as a "moral evil". He didn't suggest homosexuals personally were evil, but living in sin.
They will not get absolution nor approval for what they do from this Pope. And we can be thankful for that one fixed point on a moral compass in an otherwise distorted world.

"Gay and Lesbian Task Force" --- as if they have aircraft carriers, or something.
You know the leftists are going into a full anti-Catholic, anti-Ratzinger frenzy when someone on DailyKOS actually calls for restraint:
"Calling him a Nazi, however, is unfounded and unfair, and only serves to demean us."

Right. Criticism from perhaps the most rabidly hateful, most undeservedly self-centered, and most self-destructive organization in the West: Gay and Lesbian Marxists.
So who did he think the cardinals were going to choose? Ru Paul? Dame Edna?
Truth is not hate. Lies are hate. So sometimes embracing evil is really hate, not love. Only a fool hates correction. Ultimately, unrepentant sinners will face the fierce wrath of their Maker. At that time they might just remember those who spoke the truth and those who lied to them -- and it will finally become clear who was truly loving and who was not. Hopefully they will listen BEFORE then, or it will be too late.
As Nathan Bedford Forrest would say: "Keep up the skeer!"

Who woulda thunk it?
I'm no fan of Ratzinger, or of Catholic doctrines on any sexual matters. But Ratzinger basically didn't do squat about the hordes of child-molesting U.S priests (or their bishop and archbishop enablers), most of whom were molesting boys, not girls. Some "unrelenting hatred" from Vatican officials, for that particular subset of gay people is long overdue -- but I'm not holding my breath for Ratzinger to unleash it.
