does anyone have a source for capacitors for lamps?
i have a lamp that i like and paid a lot of money for. the capacitor burned out.
i've checked numerous suppliers on the web. most don't want to be bothered. lamp stores want to sell you a new lamp.
the capacitor is taiwanese: zing ear #256
thanks, ken
"No, but I have a Flux Capacitor if you're interested in any time travel."
Then wouldn't it be easier to just go back in time and not buy the lamp?
when i took the switch into a lighting store, the guy seemed very knowledgable. he smelled the switch and said it was dead.
They smell when you let the smoke out.
The gizmo in my husband's car that switches the heater door seeting to air conditioning quit last week. Do you know where I can get a new one?
Ping!
junk it or better yet, sell it on E-Bay and get your money back out of it while you can still cut your losses...
Probably used to work at a morgue.
Same problem here but not as critical as the music. The air conditioning used to come out the dash vents. Now, it comes out at the floor vents and the defogger vents. It's one thing after the other with this car...
No, I'm afraid instead of just replacing the heater door seeting, you'll have to buy a whole new dash, the front seat, the firewall, and engine mounts.
It says "Substitution: plain on/off 30-9159B" so click on their website or call them and get that replacement part.

Welcome to the DIY forum of home repairs. Free Republic has now been taken over by your local Home Depot.
I remember back in the eighties when we got some of those and some relatives were over. My mother asked me to explain to them how these new lights worked, so I went through all the details about the capacitor and how capacitors work etc etc. My younger brother came in after that and was asked the same question. His reply, "It works with your finger!"
thanks.
That's easy to fix. Catch it when it comes out the floor vents, and stuff it back in the air conditioning vents. Make sure you close the vents until the A/C is running again. Keep them closed when the A/C isn't running.
Yeah, I hate when that happens. :)

Is the lamp logged on?
