does anyone have a source for capacitors for lamps?
i have a lamp that i like and paid a lot of money for. the capacitor burned out.
i've checked numerous suppliers on the web. most don't want to be bothered. lamp stores want to sell you a new lamp.
the capacitor is taiwanese: zing ear #256
thanks, ken
orvac in fullerton calif.
Flux capacitor? let me know if you find one.
No, but I have a Flux Capacitor if you're interested in any time travel.
I had the same problem. I just replaced it with a standard lamp switch. If you cannot find the capacitor type you might try that approach.
i don't know waht a flux is.
1. brand
2. type
Are there any markings, such as .0001mfd or such?
wow.
thanks.
i'll try out replacing it as you guys have noted.

You beat me by eight seconds. Maybe, I actually beat you but with your fancy flux capacitor you were able to turn back time and beat me to the punch.l
thanks.
#256 not available.
could it just be a dim bulb?
Actually I posted that before the thread was here.
no, i replaced the bulb recently.
when i took the switch into a lighting store, the guy seemed very knowledgable. he smelled the switch and said it was dead.
local stores want to sell new lamps, not switches.
it's a halogen bulb.
Hey, what is this, The Home Depot DIY site? I thought this was the Free Republic?
The front speaker, drivers side, on my Buick Park Ave doesn't work. I think it's just a wire or something because the speaker was replaced yesterday and it still doesn't work. "They" said I needed a whole new system. Anyplace anyone can recommend in Spartanburg?
Sounds like he has a future as a coroner.
