My solution is to call Lugar's office tomorrow (couldn't do it today due to babysitting) and the RNC, and anyone else I can think of, including Voinovitch and Hagel. Those two will get money donated to whoever their primary opponents are, and I don't care if it is a total RINO. I want them OUT. They aren't in it for anything but themselves.
Meanwhile, I will calm myself here and watch HGTV and EWTN. I will learn about Pope Benedict XVI and room decorating and gardening. I will only pay attention to foreign affairs and President Bush, VP Cheney, and Condi Rice. Oh, and Tom DeLay. The Senate can go to you know where.

I will be home tomorrow so will check in on what you can report from your errant senator's office. I want to know what YOU know about Lugar's failure to control this committee. Since I wasn't home today I didn't get a great deal of information, except that Hagel and Voinovitch decamped.
We aren't hunting the wasckally tewowist very hard if the Paks keep announcing their raids in the media beforehand.

Voinovich is one more reason why I'm feeling like the GOP doesn't appreciate my vote or my money. If they sell out DeLay, I'm switching to Libertarian.

1. The Senate went into a special recess so Bolton could be voted out. Voinovich knew this. He was on board. If he had a problem, he could have told Leadership before we went into a special recess.
2. Voinovich's reason for not voting for Bolton today? "I haven't been to the hearings and haven't heard all these allegations until now." Embarrassing.
3. Lugar could have solved this problem easily -- he could have asked Voinovich to abstain if he didn't feel prepared to vote. He could have told him that he was embarrasing him (Lugar) and all Republicans for blindsiding him. He could have recessed for 5 minutes so Republicans could have talked to him.
4. Lugar postponed for *three weeks.* He could have called another meeting tomorrow morning and given people time to get to Voinovich.
5. Chafee -- does anybody think he'll stick, now that Voinovich is giving him cover?”
