That's wonderful. We've chatted a few times off thread. He's pretty cool. I was after him to write a book about life. Now I'm going to pester him night and day when he comes back :-)

I saw on his prayer thread that he was doing a little better...I am glad to know it's getting a little easier. He's a tough one, TC, but still...
I gotta soft spot for that guy, I have to say. I hope the chemo works!

Yeeears ago, down in Bama, my Dad invited this fellow from work back to our house for dinner. They were having conversation with my Mom when this fela casually mentioned that he'd like to invite dad to the next local Klan meeting.
My Dad, a not-small man, physically removed the garbage from our domicile. He was not invited back and from what I hear, steered clear of Poppa Bear whenever he could. :-)

I think he will be amazed when he sees that prayer thread for himself - I tried to tell him about it....... he's humble

I'm sure he will be. Funny thing is, he and I "met" in a flame war of sorts, lol. At the time, "humble" is the
last word I would have used to describe him! :)
Of course, now I know better. LOL

I wish. Far in the middle of nowhere, NW PA. Pittsburgh is a bit of a drive, but so is everything else. Haven't been to Philly in years. A friend of mine was a Philly suburb (NJ) native. Aaah, Philly, the home of our esteemed governor.

On a more general note, I agree that investigating issues affecting blacks is a great way to truly understand conservatism. In the same sense, the political structure of countries, especially developing countries, and especially in Africa is another great way to understand Conservative foreign policy, economic policy, and what REALLY aids developing countries.
I encourage others to follow your lead in viewing Conservatism through these lenses. It is especially clarifying as liberals often develop their arguments using these groups as the prime beneficiaries of their policies, when infact, they are the groups most hurt.

Agreed. I know what doesn't work with developing countries and that's liberal policies and corrupt godless politicians and civil rights activists.
