Hmmm. will you update or upgrade bump.

I ordered a five installation license for OSX.4 for one of my clients and a single license for my G5 earlier today. So I will be doing both.

I am downloading the update to OSX.3.9 right now.

That is the size for updating from OSX3.8... if you are running any thing from OSX.3.1 to OSX.3.7 you need to download the OSX.3.8 combo update which is 103 Megabytes... BEFORE you update to 10.3.9!

It might be faster to walk to the Apple factory and ask for a disk.

Poser, the download itself took me a minute and a half. The download, install, optimization of the volume, a reboot and my return to this thread took just 15 minutes.

Regards

You can download 50 megabytes in 90 seconds? That's some serious bandwidth.

I was really hoping they'd break 10 updates before Tiger came out, so everyone would stop arguing over whether it should be "10.3.10" or "10.3.9.1".

5 minutes on a cable modem netted me the update. Perhaps you should get a connection that's not 56K.
:)

I recently came into possession of an iMac with OS X 10.1.5 - with 160MB Ram - any suggestions on upgrades?

Thanks.

I assume it's an older model iMac. Max out the RAM and put 10.3 on it. If it doesn't have Firewire ports, 10.4 won't run on it.

Yup - it's an older one...no firewire ports. I've been looking into maxing out the RAM - and I'd bet I can pick up 10.3 somewhere at a reasonable price. Thanks for the info.

More RAM... get it up to at least 256 but I suggest 512. Upgrade to 10.2 or 10.3. You should be able to find them on eBay for a very reasonable cost. Do you know which model it is? Speed?
