Rick Santorum is a FAKE!

It would appear that Rick Santorum is trying to make himself appear as a closet Liberal. According to cited sources, he has "proposed raising the minimum wage; suggested that the death penalty be reserved for the most dangerous of killers; voted with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., on curbing sex and violence in the media; and sided with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., on a bill protecting religious freedom in the workplace."
Of course his real turn coat action of late has been his suggestion Sunday that "embattled House Majority Leader Tom DeLay needs to answer questions about his ethics and "let the people then judge for themselves."
What a traitorist tactic to take toward the agenda of the US President; not to mention this attack on one whom the "honorable" Senator has called friend.
No wonder the Rebublican Senators are so lacking in backbone, when the third most powerful Republican in the US Senate is the first to cave to opposition forces instead of being a man and keeping his mouth shut!
There is nothing in the Delay accusations that can hold water. It is the Democrats and the way they work. It is too bad that the Republicans in the Senate have learned nothing concerning teaching the truth to the voting public instead of turning on each other.
In my opinion, Rick Santorum should be sent home with a good whipping and a real man sent from his state to stand up for what is right instead of selling his own for staying in office!

Well, partner, I like your tone. Frankly we need to hear more of the like around here and we need to hear it more often.
I would really like to say that my own Senator was one to be proud of. Back when he was a junior Senator, he stood alone, literally, against the united force of Dems and Unions to defeat a bill that would have given unions a blank check.
But, he got into trying to save Bill Clinton's soul and now he is a limp, used up and thrown away piece of lettuce that I am still trying to get the people of my state to bring home. (Actually, I think Clinton has something on him and he doesn't have the B@lls to take Clinton on and call his bluff. Power does strange things to good men, unfortunately I think Senator Hatch wants to stay back there more than he wants to what is right for the country.

These are the same men who are threatening to "go nuclear" and change the rules of the Senate. You're against that?

Oh Geeeeze! Now we're throwing Santorum overboard?
Is NO ONE pure enough?

Look the point is that Rick has lost it. He is not standing tall and doing what is right for the country. He is PANDERING to the left.

I am sorry but I do not see how this attack on Delay has anything to do with wrongdoing; in fact, it does not. This is the Dems and liberal media attacking Delay over and over until it looks like there is enough smoke that there might be fire.
Have we learned nothing about how the Dems attack?

Wow, nice response. I almost missed it in there with all the meely-mouthing going on about my post not being proper and all. I had to go back and read your post a second time, because of all those attacks on you. I thought I had read it wrong, but it seems as though those who attacked your vanity don't have a clue about what's going on in the news of the past few days.
It is nice to gain the acquaintence of one who speaks his mind and puts his money where his mouth is.
Likewise, but I'm a "her." LOL I try to speak the truth, just like you did. There is NOTHING wrong with what you said. You told the truth!
BTW, I like your handle. Somehow, it seems a bit familiar. LOL
Yes, I had to do a double take when I saw yours. LOL Nice handle. :-)

Santorum is, at best, unimpressive. at worst, he is spineless and too much of a "centrist".
He supported Arlen Specter in the primary (BARF!).

Well, since you brought it up, yes I am.
You see, changing the rules hurts the ability of the majority party to do certain things. For some forty or more years the filibuster was the only thing that kept the liberals from turning the good old USA into a communist camp.
Now that we are in the majority we are seeing our nemesis do the same thing we did. It is only fair.
If we cannot use the rules of the game in the senate chamber then we need some of the old guys to teach the new guys how it works. (it is the old art of statesmanship).
Now a couple of salient points: the filibuster is the only thing that has stood between gun confiscation and the ability to hunt.
Second, if we change the rules, and use the nuclear option, then it will give the opposition the same permission to use it when they are in the majority; it sets a precedent that is not good. Just because the Dems have changed Senate history and become the only ones to EVER filibuster on "advise and consent" issues is no reason for us to set a precedence by doing something equally stupid.

I don't know if this is from an article the was one of the ones you meant to cite. It was posted above
In recent weeks, Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Penn., has called on Republican leader Tom DeLay to explain the ethical questions surrounding him;
So has the WSJ. I think we should circle the wagons around DeLay, but this is still not something to throw Santorum over the side.
proposed raising the minimum wage;
And exempting mom & pops from the minimum wage completely.
suggested that the death penalty be reserved for the most dangerous of killers;
Hey, I agree with that
voted with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., on curbing sex and violence in the media; and sided with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., on a bill protecting religious freedom in the workplace.
Sounds like the Dems are getting conservative.
Expect Santorum to move somewhat to the left this year, however, and don't hold it against him.
Pennsylvania political analysts G. Terry Madonna and Mike Young dispute Santorums explanations that he simply votes his conscience, pointing out that in their opinion the senator has a history of moving to the left just before elections.

Really? And I'm supposed to believe this because of a vanity? NraFreedom doesn't even provide a cite. He says he cited Newsmax & WND. I don't see it. If you don't want to believe a vanity, don't read them. He posted a VANITY, so that is his opinion. Vanities do NOT include a source, and it very plainly is market "vanity."
Is Santorum making speeches against DeLay or is he being sandbagged with questions from media-types? Or do you think that doesn't make a difference?
Yes, Santorum is making MSM statements AGAINST Tom DeLay; thereby siding with the RATS, and quite possibly will result in DeLay's removal from his powerful position.
Btw, DeLay is our friend, and possibly will help to pass through Conservative Federal and Supreme Court Justices which Bush will be making soon. We cannot afford to allow any more liberal judges on the bench. They have practically destroyed our freedom of religion. Bottom line, Santorum is wrong. DeLay did nothing wrong, it's just more of the RATS attack on a good man, and Santorum is now in their camp.

we can't let these so called repulicans get away with this again!!After Delay whose next?
To: silverleaf
"Raising the minumum wage" ..., well, for starters, I would want to see the exact details and context where this occurred. Senator Santorum's support in this regard might be a compromise on larger legislation, or it might be a kow-tow to his constituents in rust-belt PA- Senators do that every now and then, you know... especially when they're going to run for re-election against populist demagogues. The context was that he presented an alternative wage hike to a Democrat proposal and that neither one of them had any chance of becoming law. It is exactly what you say, a sop to the union voters. Now Casey can't make an issue of it, Santorum can say "I voted for an increase."
Politics is ugly like that sometimes, and FReepers who don't get it are cutting off their noses to spite their face.

Bob Casey, Jr. will not vote for Bush's judges. Santorum will. Bottom line.

DeLay is our friend, and possibly will help to pass through Conservative Federal and Supreme Court Justices which Bush will be making soon I have no doubt that he is our friend (and he is getting support from Rush & talkradio) but since he is in the House and it's the Senate (and Santorum) that vote on judges, his influence on that matter is almost nil.

Sorry, I disagree. Did you write this for WND or are you commenting on a WND article? That's besides the point. This was NOT a MSM article. It was a VANITY and is his opinion. It does not have to post a source. This is what you said:
That "article" sounds more like a temper tantrum than "journalism".
That is incorrect. He is NOT claiming to be a journalist, and in no way is it a "temper tantrum."
He merely stated the truth about what Santorum is doing to Tom DeLay.

O Contraire, my good friend. You have forgotten the time tested way to the defeat of evil. Hold your time, be patient and it will come around. The way to take care of this matter is to control the damage that is being done to the conservative movement (hence my jumping on Senator Santorum: he should be quiet because he is only adding to the damage), and then when the next election comes, turn out enough of the Senators that are involved in the filibuster to give us a filibuster proof majority. Then we can pass on Judges that have already been through committee and do it en masse. Then the judges that are still to be nominated can be put through committee and floor voted on without a problem. Have faith, the liberals have lost the trust and favor of the American public. Just look at who is lining up to run next time. This vote in 2006 can set the Republican majority of Congress for years. Control the damage, stay low key, and watch the Dems self-destruct.

Bob Casey, Jr. will not vote for Bush's judges. Santorum will. Bottom line.
When Santorum sided with Arlen Specter heading up that Committee, he proved that he's no conservative. I don't trust him.
Tom DeLay has been very instrumental in fighting the anti gun crowd and also stopped President Bush's $200 million from going to the PA. He's got a very powerful position and Santorum just sided with the RATS against him. We need more people like DeLay, because he's not a wimp like so many other Repbulicans are these days.
