Roger Ailes was on CSpan last eveing. It was an interview by the former TV reporter what became the Harvard Jouralism reporter.

The Professor asked Ailes if he had ever voted for a Democrat. When Ailes replied he had, the Reporter said.. "For Dog Catcher.. Right?"

Ailes replied, "Democrats make Great Dog Catchers!!!"

It even broke up that liberal room.

So he's taking the other (AF 2?) back....

He'll be on AF 0.

Heh. Dog catcher is the only position I'd vote for a Democrat anymore. I simply can't feed the disease no matter how good the individual might be.

I'll never forgive them for how they've behaved after 9-11 and while the country is at war.

The Church of England is about 1/8th of a step away from the Roman Catholic church. Our High Mass, one wouldn't tell the difference. Good Morning IG. You feeling ok today?

Just hearing Charles and Camilla will read the Act of Penitance from the 1612 book of common prayer, acknowledging their "manifold wickedness."

Well, good.

I dozed for a bit but suddenly woke up and remembered that today is trash day! I had to hurry and get dressed and drag the cans and bags to the curb. I cannot seem to remember that we have trash pick-up on Fridays, after having it on Monday for 25 years. Grumble, grumble.

You didn't put it in front of the mailbox, did you? Trash day on my main mail route is Tuesday when, in addition to a lot of mail, I have to deliver a newspaper to almost every box. For a long time I've been very good-natured and gotten out at the boxes where they park their trash in front of the box or near enough that I can't pull up to it. Then I started giving out little reminders to not block their box. Now I just let them wait until the next day to get their mail in most cases, especially if it's raining.

I'm off today, trying to recover from what feels like shingles, but so far no scabs or blisters have appeared. I had shingles in college and this is what it felt like in the beginning, but hopefully it won't turn into a full-blown case.

Our baby ducks are doing well. They're growing fast, but not fast enough for me. I want them off the back porch and into the pond as soon as possible.

No...we have a corner lot, with the driveway to the side of the house. Mailbox is in the front, trash goes out by the driveway.

I can't imagine people leaving trash in front of the mailbox! How inconsiderate!

Oh my! They're darling. Will they stay on the pond? Or will they wander around your lawn and make a mess on your back steps?

Did Rodger Ailes ever vote for a Democrat?

When Rodger was asked the question, my reaction was to turn it around.

The reply I would have put in Rogers mouth was...

I was wondering if you had ever asked a CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN media person if he had ever voted for a Republican?

Your honest answer to that question Marvin will tell all of us if you are biased.

The ducks are in a cage we made from an old crate and some chicken wire. We can't let them run around free just yet because of hawks and coyotes who could be about. But once they're big enough I'll leave them out at the pond.

I had them out at the pond last Sunday and started tossing them a few feet from shore and they swam back like pros. But later they seemed quite chilled and one of them almost didn't make it. They're under a heatlamp in their cage so maybe it was too much of a temperature change all at once.

The pay saga continues. A waiver letter (TDY > 139 days) got messed up somewhere in the chain, and it looks like the 30th before I'll see any pay. The Major is pushing an advance through, but that will be late next week before it hits.

I wound up borrowing some cash from the (Army) First SGT to keep me supplied with expendable stuff like soap and toothpaste... Sheesh... It's been over a month now.

The up side is that Top is going to make some phone calls on my behalf to speed things up. And he's one tough old First SGT.

Hang in there, John. Two weeks ago I finally got paid for a week of work I did in September.

Funny thing is on that very same check they shorted me for a day of work I had done about a week before. I wasn't the only one and that should be rectified on today's check, but problems with USPS payroll happen far too frequently, IMHO.

John, a couple of days ago I downloaded a trial version of Google's Keyhole program which gives you access to satellite photos. I've had fun exploring the globe and looking at places I've lived or been to.

Here are a couple of shots of where we live, our place marked with an orange X I added. The quality of photos in rural places like where we live isn't so good, but in cities you can see much more detail.

Good afternoon Chair. I hope all is going well.

Thanks for starting the thread each day.

Unfortunately, I'm posting this rant to you. Sorry.

< Rant>

You know what pi$$es me off? Chicom hackers. Why? Because if they have access to the Internet, you would think they'd figure out that democracy and freedom is where it's at. (Note to Chicom hackers: I have two firewalls. If you have a problem with that, dial 1-800-328-7448). And yes, dipsticks, there IS a hidden msg in that number.

This Terri Shiavo thing really bothers me, on a number of different levels. Forget the judiciary (Mr. Greer), no sane or good person would deny a DOG food and water. A lethal injection would have been more humane. Sometimes the character of this nation troubles me.

I'm going to miss pope John Paul. Great man. My words could never do him justice. (You democRATs/socialists/liberals know he was instrumental in ending the Evil Empire. Ronaldus Magnus still puts a bone in your collective throats, doesn't he?). He he he.

Methinks in 50 years there will be no democRAT party. (I predicted the downfall of the Soviet Union...but not in my life time. Buzzzzt.)

Castro, Mugabe, and Little Kimmy have got to go. Preferably, by lead poisoning. Yes, Fidel, I know you're listening. (Basa me coolu).

Here's to the Minutemen on the parapets. I raise my glass to you. I wish I could be there with you. Speaking of Minutemen, Jim Rob is one, and a patriot...in spades.

< /Rant>

Remember, the forgoing rant were the notes and musings of a madman.

I'll kill it for you!

I loved your rant. The Terri Schiavo murder has me so confused about what our medical/legal system stands for, as well as the deep divide it has caused between supposedly "normal" people. What was done to her shouldn't be done to anyone.

Hi! I just woke up. I worked outside for a whie and then got sooooo sleepy, having gotten up at 2 AM.

Your rant doesn't bother me a bit. The only reason I am not ranting is because I am tired.
