JUST TALKED TO THE JUDGE!

Case WAS settled Monday--

ALL parties agreed on the following.

Three doctors were picked and approved by BOTH PARTIES!

If 2 of the 3 found that Miss Mae could be moved to Emory or Birmingham with a DECENT chance of surivival then this would happen- and that the grandaughter would remain as guardian.

The Doctors had a phone conference Monday night at about 6:00 pm.

What was decided- the judge does not know--

SO please do NOT bug the judge!

My Reply: Any updates? Is Mae (hope I have her name correct) still being starved? Would they transport a woman they are starving to death?

My bottom line is food and hydration. Although I am not Catholic I believe the Catholic Church has got it right. Food and Hydration even if given though means other than the mouth are ordinary care and must be provided. Unless such a person who is in final stages of a terminal disease, say cancer, where food and water actually hurt the person. That is my bottom line- Food and Water- Everyone (exceptions noted) has food and water as a God Given Right.

Anyone- What is our best course of action as of right now?

I would just like to say "Goodbye" in advance to all the freepers who may leave after the new Life/Death battle begins and the fighting & name calling that may occur.

Happily, I was not involved in that one and will wisely stay out of this one.

Have fun everyone!

No surprise that the insurance companies are their partners.

It was easy. I don't think it took more than 15 minutes total. It took longer to write about it than it took to make the calls.

I don't see any reason for anyone to leave Free Republic. If there is an activist thread on a topic that you don't agree with, then do what I do, simply not post. I am conservative but there are a few of Jim Rob's ideas that I don't agree with. I just don't go there on this message board.

There are thousands of topics at FR, find one where you are comfortable.

On the activists threads people are usually of like mind and they are posting in order to do something and affect a change. On the activist threads we are not all that interested in "debating" the issue. We have seen what we have seen, and we are joining together posting back and forth in order to effect a change. In other words we don't want to debate the issue we want to act.

Probably people should start threads, seperate threads if they want to debate. This thread was started as an "Call to Action" thread via the very first post which was a request for action. Freepers got enough starting information so that it appears that the story is true. Now the action will take place, with the debates happening on other threads if you want to have them. There has to be one Action Thread, we learned that with Terri Schindler.

But again i dont' think anyone should leave FR, it is too good a place.

Is it 'getting to the truth', when Terri is referred to as a "carrot" ?
Is it 'getting to the truth' when her parents are referred to as "evil" and the "Schwinders"?
Is it "getting to the truth" when those of us who favor life are called "religous whackos"?

Those were all quotes from established Freepers.. just the tip of the iceberg..
We have established certain threads merely for prayer and support, and these have all been infiltrated by people seeking nothing more than to harrass.

I just emailed the press release to AARP.

I'm hoping they'll see the writing on the wall and speak up just like the disability groups did in Terri's case.

Well I never saw any of those comments, but i mainly stayed jsut on the Main terri Monthly thread.

Perhaps what you wrote were the mystery "Comments removed by Moderator" I always wondered what anyone could say on the terri thread that would cause a moderator to remove them.

I agree. I wonder if some people were leaving anyway and this was an opportunity to leave with a dramatic exit.

Well I'm sure the family sent it out into cyberspace. had to come form Mae's family.

In the article, the e-mail address given as a contact is the nephew. I jsut wrote to him BTW.

Looks to me liket he family was exasperated and asked for help. 'Nothin more to it than that, is my guesss.

The Death Freeper Crowd? Oh, that's just visiting "DU'ers in disguise twanging our twangers. They like to mess with us like that. Wastes our time."

Not all of them came from DU, some are home grown members of the death squads. I expect them to show up later, but maybe they are too busy still griping and whining about the number of Schiavo threads yet.

In my case, it worked out the opposite way. It was Terri Schiavo's plight that brought me back to FR.

I drifted away after Ronald Reagan died. It didn't have anything to do with FR, I was just depressed and fell out of touch for a while. Terri brought me back.

Well, welcome back! Glad to have someone of your caliber on board, willing to work, willing to get the word out, willing to make phone calls and e-mails, etc. It will take a number of us to waken from complacenecy to get this back on track. I, for one, admit that I was asleep until Terri woke me up, and I apologize for being complacent before. But no longer!
