If you want to see a vivid picture of what happens in a post-Terri world go see "Robots". In the movie all the robots with "failing parts" are deemed "useless" and get scooped up against their will and are incinerated to make "new" parts for those willing to pay. In other words, those willing to pay for new parts get to live. The main character obviously sees the evil being done and fights the system.
What a day to watch that movie! I drove home so angry that our government has granted itself the power to keep food and water from anyone it deems "useless" with "failing parts". We have to fight this! We must not be the next Nazi Germany!
John Thomas
This you gotta see.
Well expressed.
You mean Robots as in the cartoon movie? SOrry i don't know much as i don't follow movies anymore or have cable. Last "robot" movie i saw was that "I robot".
I think you have the metaphor wrong. See, the robots with "failing parts" are useless vanity posts, and they get scooped up and dumped into "Bloggers & Personal", or deleted entirely.
In Seattle, The city gov't has been harvesting the brains of dead people that were place in their care, AND SELLING THEM to private companys WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE RELATIVES, or used deceptive motives telling the relatives that they wanted to take just a small piece of the gray matter for "scientific research". The attorney general should have been aware of this, but now she doesn't hold that position anymore. NOW SHE'S OUR GOVENOR!!! God help us!!
Robots have no will. They're machines, not people. This is a really stupid analogy.
No offense, but this is pretty stupid. Terri could not be fixed with newer parts.
Thanks,
I will check it out later :)
And .. who are you .. the failing parts police ..??
Doublespeak lies
The government has done no such thing. But I'm sure you'll lobby your representatives to give power to the government to step in and start dictated to all families facing end-of-life situations.
You haven't been watching Battlestar Galactica have you?
No, the bad metaphor police. Although I moonlight doing private vanity-post work.
"Terri could not be fixed with newer parts."
And thank God that much of the fetal stem cell research has been stopped.
Terri was lost because society gives up to easily. Doctors are too afraid to do their job when they have to think about the litigation.
The only reason why it was an "end of life" scenario is because Michael decided it was going to an end of life scenario.
PERIOD!!!
lol
