The issue here is to examine claims made based upon prior examinations that Terri Schinlder was abused.Did any doctor who actually examined her contend that she may have been abused?
There is also a statute of limitations on abuse charges in most places.

Terri arrested 15 years ago. Her heart stopped beating and supplying oxygen to her brain. If not for the intervention of paramedics and the hospital staff, she would have died that morning. Instead, they pulled out all the stops and brought her body back with the assistance of a respirator to breathe for her. They took too long and her brain was deprived of oxygen for an extended period. No long enough to stop her organs from failing, but long enough to destroy her cerebral cortex and leave behind a body pumping blood.
Terri wasn't allowed to die in peace. Instead her body was forced to remain plugging away...like something out of Frankenstein. Just because we are able to bring people back from the dead doesn't mean it's a good thing and appropriate in most casees.

There is also a statute of limitations on abuse charges in most places. There is, but if Michael maintains that Terri really died in 1990, then whatever caused her collapse would be her cause of death. There is no statute of limitations on murder.

Her family doesn't see it that way and that's what truly matters. We spectators have our own reasons for caring about this case, but Terri's family wanted her to stay alive. Do you think that is wrong? Who decides the "quality of life" issues for us?

Did any doctor who actually examined her contend that she may have been abused? Yes. The term used was "history of trauma" indicated by a bone scan.
If abuse contributed to her initial collapse, then it would be a case where there is no statute of limitations.

Jess,
Where do you get all this? And so, you would have recommended leaving her on the floor to die peacefully w/out any medical intervention, including cpr??? Yah, I know that probably he thought she was too far gone to revive, so he called her dad, thinking it was a done deal. And you would have been there insisting he wait a while longer before calling, right?

Recommended to Gov. Bush by the Florida Medical Examiners' Commission. McCabe was the chairman of the search committee. Thogmartin was excited about Pinellas County having its toxicology work done in-house. Dunno. You call it.

The term used was "history of trauma" indicated by a bone scan."History of trauma" is not abuse. If I fall off my front porch six times and break my leg six times, my leg has a "history of trauma."
Abuse is a criminal finding, not a medical one.

Jeb Bush signed the order in 2000 that Dr.Jon Thogmartin, District Chief Medical Examiner for Pinellas County, Florida
would do the autopsy.
It has never been changed.
I saw the signed order online.

Terri died today, not in 1990. Tell that to jess on this thread: "Terri died today, not in 1990. "What is tragic is that she was resuscitated after she DIED in 1990 too late. That is the tragedy of this entire three ring circus. Terri died 15 years ago and they tried to bring her back and didn't quite get it right."

At the very least, The IRS can do an audit on the WOODSIDE DEATH CAMP, er Hospice, as well as multiple audits on Shaivo, Greer, Felos, etc. There are ways to bring justice, even if its on another level. Schindlers should file multiple wrongful death suits against above mentioned groups.

Really now...I see it's easy for you to throw words around, let's see if you can back them up with fact. Don't worry, I won't hold my breath.

He should have relayed her 'express wishes' then, and not have waited from the gravy train.

No, I never said they should leave her on the floor to die...but when a patient has gone without oxygen for x amount of minutes, the medical professionals KNOW they're bringing back a breathing corpse in many cases. That's irresponsible.

Instead her body was forced to remain plugging away That is inaccurate and dishonest.
In fact they needed to keep her body from receiving nutrients for almost two weeks to stop it from "plugging away".

"In many cases?" And how are those cases to be determined at that moment? Doesn't everyone have a right to life-saving technology?

"Is there some reason you feel the Pinellas County Coroner's office is not going to be impartial?"
The fact that if it is done there, many will question it is reason enough to do it elsewhere. With what has gone on in this county with other officials, the public needs to be assured this is unbiased...

Without the extraordinary life support measures, her body would have died 15 years ago along with the vast majority of her brain. Is that so very difficult for you to comprehend?
