Let's end the Rancor (Vanity)

Short and sweet, be you a conservative republican, democrat, libertarian what have you. Terri is gone, please for God's sake let's stop the internal bickering and get down to business to see that this type of thing doesn't happen again.

Regardless of what side you are on in this debate, we are not going to do Terri, her family, ourselves or our Country any good by slamming and debasing each other.

It's now time to roll up our sleeves and get to work removing the likes of Judge Greer and other Judicial Tyrants from the Judiciary. It's also time to start hammering our elected reps to begin putting the Judiciary back into it's proper place as a co-equal part of government instead of the "Final word" on laws that our representatives have enacted.

God bless Terri's family and God have mercy on the United States.

I don't know that the pro-Michael types would agree with you. Guess we'll find out what they post.

Point out to me where I said "agree with me"

Right here: "It's now time to roll up our sleeves and get to work removing the likes of Judge Greer"

If it weren't for the fact that this is only the first baby-step in general mandated euthenasia, then I'd say it's over.

But it isn't. It's only just begun.

The problem is too many people are thinking solely with their emotions and not with their brains. Instead of devoting their energies to fixing the problems that lead us to this point, they'd rather call the President a Nazi, Governor Bush a Nazi, and any member of this forum that doesn't take their view a Nazi.

It's going to take some time for the grief to pass then another bit of time for all the coming Opi to work their way off the forum.

After that things should return to the controlled bickering of two weeks ago.

Agreed. I've been flamed once already this morning on this subject. I didn't let it escalate. What's the point? The flamer is a rube, LOL!

This situation is FAR from over, and you're right that we need to roll up our sleeves and get to work. It's a battle won for the Culture of Death, but they haven't won the whole war; not by a long-shot. :)

So you are 100% happy with the way the Judiciary in this country operates?

You prefer activist judges who ignore the rule of law? (Greer did) Who legislate from the bench?

It will be tough but we can do it. There will always be people who disagree with us but "its a free country". The test will be with our so-called conservative Congressmen and Senators! We will see if they prove their worth in office. If not - they can say bye bye in their next election!

and I pray to God that they do not win the War, otherwise what our fathers and grandfathers fought against will have taken over in this country.

Freepers, especially those who sided with Michael Schiavo in this case, or those who thought Gov. Bush could do no more, please join with us. We are going to move forward now, come hades or high water, and extract some revenge politically on this, as well as set the markers for the Culture of Life vs. Culture of Death showdown in America that will make the Red States-Blue States thingy look like a good natured, family reunion tug-of-war at the park. Please join us.

There will be no rancor, only unity, focus, commitment and results. Promise!

If it weren't for the fact that this is only the first baby-step in general mandated euthenasia, then I'd say it's over.

Please, show me where this is the only case where a feeding tube was removed from a patient? How is this the first baby-step? I am not trying to start an argument, just trying to get to the bottom of your reasoning.

The way I understand it there were several landmark cases way before Terri that set some precedents which would preclude Terri's case being the first step, baby or otherwise.

How was this a general mandated case? It was specific to Terri and does not effect rulings in the future.

As the poster of this thread has said if you wish to change the laws now is the time to try to do so, crying and moaning about the sky falling and our country becoming akin to Nazi Germany and that we are going to start building gas chambers for the disabled and elderly won't accomplish much.
