The way I understand it there were several landmark cases way before Terri that set some precedents which would preclude Terri's case being the first step, baby or otherwise.
How was this a general mandated case? It was specific to Terri and does not effect rulings in the future.
As the poster of this thread has said if you wish to change the laws now is the time to try to do so, crying and moaning about the sky falling and our country becoming akin to Nazi Germany and that we are going to start building gas chambers for the disabled and elderly won't accomplish much.
