Word For The Day, Thursday, March 31, 2005
03/31/05 | Slip 18

March 31, 2005, Thursday

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

SEMINAL

Adjective
Pronunciation: Semin/al
Etymology: I don’t know. I can’t read the danged thing.

1) Of, derived from, containing or consisting of seed or semen ( ~ vessel )
2) Having the characteristics of originative power, principle or source: containing or contributing seeds of later development: germinate

I actually heard this word on the news (of course FNN) the other night. It had nothing to do with fluid, you Croqs.

Morning.
Had the seminal inspiration of one of my patented bad ideas, but it sashayed off.
Should it find you, please run away from it, it is a very bad idea.

I win also. But it's a different game when playing in a tournament. You are playing against the dealer and the other players. So if the dealer is showing 4,5,6 or 7 and you have two tens, you have to split. It's the only way to win against the other players.

I have never in my life split tens, ever. But this is tournament play. So I have to go against my grain here.

Also I'm playing with Monopoly money, and it's $2000 worth. I've never played with that much money in my life either. So instead of of playing $5 to $25, I have to play with $100 or $200 a hand.

I hope I'm in the second round, so I can see how other players actually place bets.

She starts off talking to herself and it goes downhill from there. I picture myself as her neighbor, watching him pull into the driveway...whispering over the fence..."Run, Buddy, run for the hills- be free!"

I used to play in tounaments but it is addictive so I gave it up. Cigarettes and alcohol are enough addictions for me.

My ex, after an evening spree of trying to kill me, thought I couldn't make it without him. He thought we would have a "reconciliation." Not a bloody chance.

Divorce was never in my mind until that evening. I have no guilt. He broke our wedding vows.

I spent three years pulling myself together after that. And I did. I met Cyber on my very first date. And all y'alls know the rest.

She absolutely loved to be pregnant. I think she felt so, whatever the good feeling it is you feel when you're pregnant (I wouldn't know). My dad was happy and willing to accommodate her needs. LOL!

The last two were twins, and she had enough of the pregnancy thing, so she drank some mineral oil thinking the oil would slither the babies out early. Didn't work. She had two more weeks left. Poor thing.

She's still healthy, swims 100 laps a day. Her 79th birthday is on April 23.

Oh, she did have to have a masectomy when she was 75, but she said, "Who the he!! cares?"
