In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

What the heck does that mean? My mom use to say that.
Technically speakin' of course, Monica had several million tails to trail her tale to all who would listen, if that's what ya means....
"use" should be "used." Yes, she was right. I'm brain dead.
What?
Me?
I'm perfectly swerve and deboner.
A most proper gentleman in all regards.
I see the five stages of grief many are going through, on tv and here at FR. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. They are all here.......and evident. We all are in one stage or another of our grief.
Yuppers. I forgot how many trails you critters have.
I know I went through them all. But I had FRiends to help out. Thank goodness we are all here.
robt you never cease to amaze me........lol
It is not really surprising that organizations such as NOW remained, despite their name, silent on the matter (even though they normally hold all males in such low regard). What is shocking to many is that a government that so readily gave back to communism Elian Gonzales just a short while ago was unable to act in the best interests of one of its own, least-able citizens.
That one man's lies about the true wishes of his spouse may have been sufficient to bring us to this point is disturbing enough; but the acquiescence and outright support of some Americans toward this result bodes ill for our future.
At this point we hope and pray that God will take Terri into His loving arms, while we need to gird ourselves for the battle ahead.
When the Supreme Court grants or refuses emergency relief, under the Rule and on its face, that is a single-Justice decision by the Justice assigned to the geographic source of that case. However ....
When the case is at all controversial, that Justice will as a matter of course refer the question to the other Justices. For instance, my first win in the Court was by one Justice, who recited that "four of my brethren agree with this conclusion."
Normally, the "nose count" of the Justices is revealed only when the relief requested is granted.
As for the constitutionality of the Terri Schiavo Law passed by Congress on an emergency basis: neither the trial court nor any other federal court ruled that law unconstitutional. Instead, the trial court purported to apply and follow the law, and no appeals court disagreed.
To my view, the trial court deliberately and clearly violated the law, by not conducting a de novo review as required. And the higher courts failed their duty by not reversing and requiring the trial court to obey the law.
Congressman Billybob
A++++ for you!
Thank you, Congressman Billybob. It was nice of you to stop in and give your excellent presentation.
Your comments clear up a few of my questions. Thanks.
Yes, those are two domed buildings on either side. You get the full effect driving up the hill...
Thank you for explaining the details to us. In my non-legal opinion, they not only failed their duty, they failed in their obligation to morality as it applies to the least of us.
Don't make me bring in the briefs' jpeg, Arghie. It's awful.
I'd say that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but not in this case....
What were they thinking? I mean it's one thing to be naughty in here . . .
