Something similar to this happened to my Aunt when she was a teen during the early 70's. Some long-haired guy showed up to pick her up for a date and my Grandfather (a sort of crusty WW2 vet with a penchant for hard liquor and dangerous driving) shoved the guy off the front porch without letting him in the house stating "My daughter ain't going out with some damned hippy!".

Oh, I just noticed it said hitting ON you---I first thought it said hitting you....................never mind.
