In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

2a. walk, glide, go
2b. to strut or move about in an ostentatious or conspicuous manner *
2c. to proceed or move in a diagonal or sideways manner

Did you know?
The French verb "chasse" ("to make a sliding dance step") danced into English unaltered in the early 19th century, but as the word gained popularity in America people often had difficulty pronouncing and transcribing its French rhythms. By 1836, "sashay" had begun to appear in print in American sources. Authors such as Mark Twain, Zora Neale Hurston, and John Updike have all since put their names on the word's dance card and have enjoyed the liveliness and attitude "sashay" adds to descriptions of movement. They and many, many others have helped "sashay" slide away from its French dance origins to strut its stuff in descriptions of various walks and moves.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Regardless of personal opinion of Cochran, and the guilt or innocence of OJ, there is no denying he did his job and did it well. As a defense attorney his job was to defend his client.....he did and he cast enough doubt on the prosecution's case (which wasn't difficult)for his client to be found not guilty.
Love it! Thanks for the whole version.
Kofi is at the IRS now?
I just sashayed in here this morning and I saw a camel! Can camels sashay? Or do they eathay?
I still would like to see a flat tax. Everyone pays 10 percent of everything they buy. It does not burden the poor, middle class or wealthy. If you buy a home for $1 mil, you pay $100,000. If you buy a car for $100, you pay $10. It just seems fair to me.
Vastie won't be back for a while. He's been putting up his camel on Wednesdays for a while now. Kinda of like my handcuffs. LOL!
You endowed-bais is showing. What about the truly flat?
I think the group was Leroux.
Of course, you wouldn't pay taxes on an appendectomy.
Very French. I've always loved the movie, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" for some reason. A lot of Creole going on in there.
Yet another FL case. Good gracious!
So I'm very, very sensitive about the IRS and their antics right now.
Well I have actually found something in the news about the shooting last Thursday night at the poultry plant....other than the time, location, and the fact the perp got away, not one of the rest of the details jives with the information we have on the situation.
According to the news account the victim is male and in critical condition...........according to our information the victim was female and is now deceased.
According to the news account the perp fled in a car with MD tags.........according to our infomration the vehicle he fled in was found abandoned on Friday.
In a little while I think I will take my potting soil and other seed starting paraphenalia outside and await the arrival of the mail - and talk to my mail carrier, who is a font of information in this rural area.
With panache and cache,
Leather mini and attache,
You can see all the guys,
Lose control of their eyes,
As she walks with a lovely sashay!
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. C. S. Lewis
I hope you get the facts. I sure as heck wouldn't want a murderer close by. Good luck!
