Time to let this government fall

I have long thought that the issue of illegal immigration would split the GOP base if Bush continued his policy of compassion for everyone but legal US citizens. But the pro-life camp hung in their even though they too mostly opposed illegal immigration. Well has Bush managed to alienate the pro-lifers too. Hell even many Democrats are aghast that what the government is allowing to happen in Fla.

It will take time for the scope of this betrayal to sink in, but when it does it will become clear that the current GOP is not up to the task of running the government and it not deserving of any support. Yea that means the democrats will once again take control of government, oh well, but anything is better then having a completely incompetent conservative in name only government. A completely incompetent conservative in name only government ties the hands of conservatism allowing liberal socialist gains that a loyal opposition minority could stop.

Time to let this government fall, it is not worthy of support.

Keep repeating this to yourself:

"The most powerful man in the world along with his brother, another extremely powerful man of national prominence, couldn't find a reason to stop their own governments from slowly killing an innocent, invalid woman by starvation."

Have a nice day.

"Savage's "two card Monte" theory gains more and more credibility every day."

Pretty much true, but on pro-life there was a diference, I say was, becuae there is no longer a meaningful diference.

No one, I will answer it for you.

As I have stated I think the conservative agenda is best served by having real conservtives as a minority party in the house and Senate. So it will be fairly easy to figure out how I will vote, and how I will use my influence amongst local folks in the upcomming election, assuming the state still permits me to consume food and water.

You seem to think that I am one of those foolish enough to run off to some third party and marinalize myself. I'm not. I am a Republican until a better conservative alternative comes along, so I either reward the GOP for doing good or I punish the GOP for doing bad. I am leaning hard towards punishing the GOP in 08.

and just by saying "if the states permits me to have food and water" just shows you are not thinking logically or rationally at this time....

Oh no! That I think is the new requirement for receiving the blessing(permission) of the state to eat food.

I remember the good old days when one thanked G*d for blessing the dinner table with food. Now I guess we will have to thank the state for allowing us to eat. And bless the GOP for making this brave new world posible.

you seem to preoccupied by the "state" allowing you to eat.

It sucks that it happened to Terri but it isn't as if they are coming after you.

Please tell me that they are....that will make a great capper to this idiotic discussion

no he has only managed to alienate the far right fringe that wasnt voting for the GOP in any case...

I feel pretty alienated from the GOP and I've been voting and volunteering time and money for the GOP for several decades...and it would be easy to say that the issues of illegal immigration and national security (which are closely related) have driven me away from the GOP, but in retrospect, it's not just those, and it's not just the fact that I'm in a border state.

As I said elsewhere, I haven't left the GOP, the GOP has left me. I'm as Conservative as I ever was.

being that I havent ever been in the GOP I guess I just won't get that part....

Unfortunately in this political climate any 3rd party isnt going to do much. So it is up to people like you who are already in the GOP to get actual conservatives (Mike Pence comes to mind from Indiana) and get increasingly more and more of them elected.

And its a matter of the local law enforcement going after the employers of the illegals too. That would get the issue quicker than just about anything short of nuking Mexico. Whether the employer is here in Ohio or Massachusetts or Arizona or California, if the employers get busted and not only fined but put out of business, well you can probably finish that thought for me....

They probably would, but it's politically incorrect to do so. Neither party wants a crackdown on illegals. That's just the way things are, and have been.

As far as joining another party, I probably will. I don't have anything to lose at this point.

I think you make some valid points but I also think you
underestimate a strong third party candidate. Many think
that they are "throwing away" their vote because in our
system they don't have much chance of being elected. But
the real power and influence of a strong third party is
the way the AFFECT THE TWO MAJOR PARTIES. For example, if
a strong candidate emerges who will defend our nation
against the social, economic, and national security
dangers of the illegal foreign invasion -- you'll be
surprised how the Reps. and Dems. take notice and move
in the direction of the third party's position. Especially
when 70% of the public agrees with their position on
the matter of illegals. Suddenly confronted with the
possibility of losing millions of votes they will adopt
a position closer to that of the third party. Thus, even
when third party candidates lose they can still WIN --
because they have changed the political landscape and
FORCED the two major parties to pay attention to an issue
that's important to the nation. Right now on the matter
of our out-of-control borders the two major parties are
basically "tweedle-dee" and "tweedle-dum". The two
major parties have marginalized themselves on this issue.
