That would be her choice. No court would step in unless asked to.
Ah, but what if her husband steps in and asks the court to order the abortion, because he "remembers" her saying that if she had to choose between her life and her baby's, she would rather be the one to live.
Then let's go a bit further, let's say the court ruled that she is not in the right frame of mind to make that choice and in lieu of that "fact" orders the abortion procedure. Since it is, in fact, a court order... should it be followed.

There are numerous legal means by which Terri can be saved, but those that have the levers of power are not willing to use them, because of the perceived political fallout.

That shouldn't be a death sentence for them if they become disabled. I don't see why not.

Lock me in as one of the right wing crazies. What is happening to Terri is unconscionable. Sometimes you just have to get down into the pits and play a little dirty. Maybe start with GW calling his attorney gen. and getting something done.

I understand that but sometimes you just have to do the right thing because it "is" the right thing to do. PC be damned.

Rush made some excellent points. I had forgotten that Clinton had lost in the 11th Circuit, and used a lower judge to get a warrant. This right there puts the lie to notions that Jeb Bush or George Bush could not have acted. All they needed was a warrant. Hey, wait, can't you get a warrant to protect a witness to a Congressional investigation or a DCF inquiry?????? They could take that application to a judge in DC or in Tallahassee.
Failure to act in the face of evil is cowardice that empowers evil.

Seems to me the Bots what power for powers sake, us right wing nut jobs want power to prevent evil from gaining power. If the bots will not use power against evil they they defeat our purpose just as much as allowing evil to have power. the result is the same in both instances, ergo supporting bots or supporting evil is identical it it's effect.

Rush just finished saying that Jeb Bush feels he doesn't have the power to do anything, his hands are tied. Getting harder to believe all the time.
If I were Jeb I would be on the phone to GW and tell him to do whatever it takes, politics be damned.

Rush is saying we need to elect officials who have guts to reign in the judiciary.
To: Fan_Of_Ingraham
Your hypothetical has too many variables for me to even bother with.
The point being that the courts don't just jump in when ever they feel like it. They have to be asked to look into something before they will. They were asked to look into it by both sides in this case, so far as I know. The parents need to quit asking courts to look into it if they don't like the answers they are getting.
The point of myself and others on this thread has been that we can't bitch and moan about liberals not following court orders if we are going to do the same thing.
Do you get that?
To: Defiant
A women just called Rush's show and used basic logic...Rush began to stutter about the "rule of law"...the jig is up...Rush is my opinion is being hypocritical on this.

Jeb Bush MAY NOT disregard that obligation, even if a member of the judiciary has ordered otherwise. He is NOT bound by a court order that is AT ODDS WITH A CONSTITUTIONAL GUARANTEE!! What part of that are people NOT getting?????Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
To: Lady Eileen
My eyes our opened...Rush is ignorant on this.

I agree with you.
If I were the Governor, I would exercise my executive powers to remove her based on the abundant evidence (not even looked at by the courts) that she is concious and not in a PVS, and get her tested by competent neurologists.
