By way of disclaimer, I'm a yankee-in-remission. But I do recognize that spirited political debate can cause rifts. I'm reluctant to discuss the TS case with my family.
That said, FR is a political website where spirited debate is common. On subjects such as this one, the rhetoric gets very heated. It's to be expected. Personally, I prefer that to the sort of "cover-up-our-differences-and-hope-they-go-away" reaction that is the hallmark of political correctness.
