Pray for W and Terri's Family
You too Clyde, thanks...
Some chess master. I've seen threads popping up about him lately. Important news being repressed by all these "boring" threads about government sanctioned murder..
See post #112
Ridiculous.
Must one be a policeman to be credible about his opposition to crime?
Oh, ok, see, what did I tell you, you learn on FR.
You see, that response is unreasonable. I have participated in these forums for some time and I have, I hope, contributed. Most know me as someone who is civil and I almost never engage in flame wars. But the premise of your statement - that I somehow want, or don't mind, that an innocent woman will die soon - is patently wrong and demonstrates emotional and sloppy thought on your part. I hate, absolutely hate, that she will likely die. I hate it and I pray for her. I simply stated that FR is in an overload mode. I also want to engage in other news....period. So......if you want to attack more, fine. I will not engage - because I suspect that you and I both feel the same about that poor innocent woman.

Total agreement Lando, I mean come on K2Bladder??
Well this has be fun, and interesting. Lots of you need to learn how to read (comprehension), and not jump to conclusions.
Lots of you need to practice what you preach, and not be so mean spirited, and nasty.
To those that got the point, I thank you for the discussion.
And to ALL of you Happy Easter!
I very much agree with you, I was concerned with the amount and nature of a lot of those threads.
I apologize for my last post to you. I should have kept it to myself. You are right about prayer. If it's your wish I will not post to you after this.
I'm angry because it's wrong to say this is an "overload," that people should just stop talking about this issue, to expect that we should all just "move on."
This is a heinous moment in American history.
As for myself, I believe disengaging myself from this issue for selfish reasons ("It's over already, let it go," "I'm tired of it," "Where's the real news," etc.) would be as reprehensible as what's being done to Terri by her husband and doctors.
(Jack-boots, anyone?)
Thankfully, some of the most violent suggestions and some of the vilest attacks have been pulled.
These are indeed important issues of life vs death for Terri, right to die, states rights, family rights at such a time, rule of law, judicial competency, executive powers, so much more.
But on balance I agree, a lot of folks here have gone absolutely bonkers posting any 'net BS going around. Or maybe ginning up their own "facts."
If I thought the poor woman had any hope for even the mildest form of recovery success I'd probably be inclined to support any reasonable attempt to quote save her.
Here's what I think: If Mrs. Schiavo could tell us now, as a person with whole, sane mind, what she would want I believe she would not want to be maintained as a near vegatable with no hope for recovery.
I wouldn't. I also think she said as much to her husband and others before her body failed.
It's not so much that this issue is being discussed.
What is happening to Terri is pure evil, and SHOULD be talked about.
The problem *I* have is HOW the whole thing is being discussed, and some of the things being advocated.
The name-calling, viscious personal attacks and some of the calls promoting violence that have been posted over the last week are simply DELIGHTING the Left.
We have people here on FR who SHOULD be allies, many who are otherwise FRiends, yet the eye-gouging and hair-pulling has reached a crecendo.
We look ridiculous to the outside world.
"I very much agree with you, I was concerned with the amount and nature of a lot of those threads."
We are NOT in agreement.
My suggestion to you was to leave these folks work out their grief and frustration. What is going on with Terri is wrong on too many levels to list.
Be considerate. Please.
Why is it that in all the coverage of the Shiavo case (and it has been endless!), why haven't my questions been answered? 1. What is the real bottom line of that woman's condition? 2. Why has the 'husband' refused to step aside in favor of the patient's parents? 3. Who has been paying for the patient's care up to now? 4. Will the husband gain a financial benefit if the patient dies? 5. Are the parents prepared to meet the financial costs of the patient's continued care? It would seem to me that those questions should have been answered at the very top of the story. If I missed something along the way, please update me.
Thanks for posting a Terri thread telling us there's too many Terri threads. Good stuff!
Lando
I would agree, but these threads have degenerated into insult fests. It's not worth trying to find a few gems of wisdom, when you have to slog through a tangle of "You're a liar", "You're not a Christian", "Bush is a coward" crap that gets in the way.
