so what was Terri's crime that she is being granted reprieve for?
"so what was Terri's crime that she is being granted reprieve for?"
Being disabled and having the temerity not to die on her own.
He is giving clemency from judge greers order. See Judge Greers order: Case No. 2D05-1455 (3/24/2005) at http://www.state.fl.us/cf_web/
For what it is worth, in the list of powers of executive clemency, there is the power to "restore civil rights."
Under the U.S. Constitution (5th and 14th Amendment) and likely under Florida's Constitution, as an adult citizen Mrs. Schiavo does have a civil right to life. I believe that Governor Bush could restore that civil right.
So what was Terri's crime that greer sentenced her to execution? And with a death sentence upon her, why isn't it proper to pardon her--you can leave a freakin' blank in the crime portion of the sentence, though no naming of the crime is required with a pardon/reprieve? Why do you insist she must be put down now rather than three months from now?... Because your ilk know the momentum would shift to the nation not being in favor of executing a disabled woman when the whole truth of Schiavo/Greer/Felos/Hospice hits the fan blades! Go away, you're getting your sacrifice to the rites of serialized killing.
The idea of an executive like either of the Bush brothers "pardoning" Terri has been bandied about for days now. I've asked the same question you've asked. It seems that it is a rhetorical question.
