Here, kitty kitty. Wine critics love cat pee, but hate wet dog. We explain why.

It's a conundrum to some who read wine publications: How can cat-pee aromas in wine be good, yet horse manure be bad? Wet slate is in, wet dog is out? Sweat is positive, but dirty gym socks are not? And why don't critics say that wine tastes like grapes?

My favorite cat of all time, the first champion I bred myself, was my HyBrasil Cormac Mac Art. He was an Only Kitten and grew to a remarkable size for a Siamese cat - almost 20 pounds of solid muscle.

He made his Championship before he was one year old- he was twice the size of anything else in the ring, but his conformation was lovely. He got marked down a few points for oversize, but otherwise he had perfect proportions, the true wedge head and a lovely slate blue coloration with a very pale body, so he did very well. He lived to a ripe old age and we gave him a Viking funeral and buried him with all his ribbons.

What can I say----that's just too funny. Great story! Cats are so wonderful, aren't they!

Fritz was a Siamese as well, although we couldn't document it. In fact we had an entire Siamese family- grandfather, son and daughter-in-law (Fritz's parents) and Fritz, the grandson. All gone now, alas.

All of our current cats were abandoned or picked up as strays. We're suckers for that sort of thing. We do enjoy attending cat shows, although my eyes tend to itch after a while.

ROFL! And I thought the Aussies had cornered the market in goofy names.
