If he hadn't, his rating in his base would of plummeted.. And rightly so. That's not true. Most Republicans, in three different polls, opposed Bush's and Congressional involvement in this matter.

Only because the question was worded as to appear to the uninvolved that Schiavo was on life support. Note that the poll question did not ask whether it was ok to deny all nutrition ORALLY.
Also - re the right to die issue - the poll question was worded in such a way as to imply her wishes were quite clear when it is anything but.
Biased polls produce worthless results.
