This is the dumbest thing I've read on here yet. First off, Pres. Bush can't be re-elected, so who cares what his poll numbers are? And if anyone polled had really followed this story and understood it, and now think less of Bush, then their dems anyway.
President Bush's approval ratings have PLUMMETED since he got involved.
If he hadn't, his rating in his base would of plummeted.. And rightly so.
Oh no! We're all doomed!!!
Well, it IS a very compelling drama . . .
Not news. Opinion. Why not post this in one of the existing threads on the topic?
I wonder about the MSM all the time. I wonder how anyone can listen to the BS they put out and consider it the gospel truth.
Norm? Is that really you? You old lovable Patriot!
Trying a new tack?
Awww! Normie! Cut it out you old commie!
I don't know if I agree with all of your conclusions, but I will agree that I was stunned that Schiavo trumped a school shooting. I was away from all sources of news when the shooting happened for most of the day (Monday I think it was), but I'd been home late Monday with the news on for a couple of hours (all Terri Schiavo coverage) before I heard about the school shooting. When has there ever been a school shooting with so many dead and so little national TV coverage during the week?
I don't see an agenda ... even Fox covers the story 24/7.
If your premise is true, then why is Rush Limbaugh pushing this story to the degree he is? I think Terri's passing will leave a very bitter taste in the mouths of evangelicals, but I don't think the Bushes will be blamed. They have done what they could given the parameters of the law. No human's life is worth the price of imposing marshal law. Millions have been killed in wars in order to protect us from that very thing.
When you base conclusions on biased and flawed MSM polls, which are push polls plain and simple, then you reach flawed conclusions.
Garbage in garbage out, this is a tragedy but the only person suffering irreversible harm is Mrs Schiavo.
President Bush is a man of conscience and morals, he's reacted to this the only way he ever would. He stated and acted "to err on the side of life".
It takes 24/7 spin to shape this story to help the DNC!
That time of month?
Bush could care less what his poll numbers are. He has always put his beliefs first.
That being said, the 24/7 media circus is disgusting, horrible, and a self-perpetuating ratings monster. Frankly I wish the families had NOT gone to the media.
Don't click on vanity threads.
It seems to me another person of faith, who also had a government rule against him, was sentenced to death 2000 years ago on this very day.
Ironic, isn't it?
Blessings to you and yours.
If we only had a president who was driven by high poll numbers and focus groups.
"Should I help save a woman's life or buy a dog named Buddy?"
This notoriety is part of George Felos' plan.
He says Terri will have a peaceful death, but people know that death by starvation is gruesome. They will clamor for "physician assisted suicide" death by injection, which is what Felos' helpers, the ACLU, have wanted all along.
ACLU Honors [former chief justice of the Florida State Supreme Court] Kogan With Poynter Award
Yesterday Felos publicly thanked the ACLU for their help in killing Terri. I think Felos is trying to spread the guilt around a little.
I disagree. The only ones who politicized this were those on the left. The right simply tried to remind us that there is a higher power than the judiciary - a power that is recognized by the United States Constitution. It was a noble attempt, one doomed from the beginning, but still noble. I don't think this will have longterm adverse effects at all. Whereas the law must be followed, those who make laws and those who administer judgements are not infallible. This event simply pointed out what we already know - that there is a great divide in this country caused by those on the left who have made it their life's work to secularize our society and that they are unhappy with the growing backlash against them.
