The Florida Rules of Civil Procedure allow a deposition to be taken prior to a civil action actually being filed. Filing and serving this on Terri, and asking the court for an order inserting the tube so as allow the witness to live in order for the deposition, may be a last, best hope. It's clear Jeb isn't going to do anything.
You'll have to come up with a cause of action.
How about the local city folks yank the business license or condemn the facility because it fails a (very rushed) health inspection. Make it the building isn't safe for occupancy by humans, or for killing them either. Residents and staff must evaccuate immediately then the Gov. could swoop in and pick up the residents and take them all under his care.
If Judge Greer can thumb his nose at US House because it's his business and not theirs then I say the local city gov. can tell Greer to piss off, it's not any of his business if the facility happens to have a serious mold or teetsi fly problem.
My sentiments exactly. If he was going to hide in the mansion all day, then he shouldn't have held the news conference yesterday giving hope to Terris family. Nobody will ever convince me that he couldn't have done something.
And what's up with congressional subpoenas? At least all of America now knows those aren't enforceable.
Rant over~
You pose an interesting tactic.
To offer some "additional ammunition" - Has judge greer failed to declare a conflict of interest in hearing this case, since his wife is reported to be one of the executive for the hospice at which Terri is being held hostage, and summarily executed in a manner by which even the SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) should find repugnant.
The Judiciary is to be the weakest of the branches, but here has usurped power. It is time they are put in check.
Those claiming that Bush can't be a Dictator need to remember that the judiciary is acting like one. It is time to usurp the SOBs.
This is akin to the judge ordering the removal of all oxygen by tightly tying a plastic bag over a patient's head while unplugging the respirator.
I wonder when the last time was that Terri filed her federal taxes. Surely she didn't file the year of her "accident". Maybe they can send federal agents to arrest her for failure to file and place her in a hospital until she is able to be interviewed by her case officer.
Or, rather than there being a conspiracy, what really happened is that police and prosecutors in the last 15 years have examined this evidence and concluded that no crime has occurred.
"Go down 2 blocks, turn right, 5th building on the left. You can't miss it: The SS troops are outside."
I imagine he's kind of busy with this whole thing?
That was sooooooooo cool!
I'd love for the 'real' cops to show up and arrest the bad guys for 'whatever' and while they're being taken in, hit the Hospice.
That's a scenario I could live with...
I bet Terri hasn't filed her taxes in a number of years. Michael cannot be filing his taxes with both women.
Wow, local Florida cops are SS troops now? Who knew?
