Agreed. How about insulin? Or dialysis? Blood transfusions for hemophiliacs? Heavens, there must be many more examples of human interference in life.

Pacemaker regulates a heart that beats erratically. The person has the ability to take nourishment with, or without it, and in fact may live without it.
Theresa cannot live if the feeding tube is not in place, or she is forced fed in another manner.
