Who's the villain in the Terri Schiavo case?
(49%) Her husband
(24%) The government
(14%) Her parents
(12%) The media
Isn't that why Kervorkian is in jail? After all that is what assisted suicide is.
I think that the people who believe Michael Schiavo should be allowed to starve his wife are libertarians, not conservatives. I would guess they're the same people who think abortion should be legal. They seem to think that the killing of the unborn - and Terri Schiavo - is a "private" matter, "in our bedrooms", and the government is intruding if it gets involved.
I haven't been following this adventure ~ so it isn't appropriate for me to comment, except to say that if I was in this state and hadn't responded in a couple of months, I would want them to release me from my earthly bonds and be with the Lord in Heaven.
"If you don't defend Michael Schiavo's rights to make the best moves for his wife..."
He lost that when he grabbed a girlfriend and had TWO children by her.
Frankly, I have a lot of trouble buying that as a motive. Michael could easily divorce Terri and marry Jodi. The fact that Jodi is Catholic and they would have to wait a few more years to have a Church wedding is meaningless. Catholics have civil ceremonies all the time.
you are absolutely WRONG
THE RIGHT TO LIFE IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT AND IS BEING TRAMPLED UPON.
MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON HER. BUT JUST AS IMPORTANT MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO ARE PUTTING HER TO DEATH.
They aren't going to listen.
Hell, you can't get most to carry on an intelligent disscussion on the facts, for as soon as you question some allegation, which may, or may not be true , you are set upon, or get some juvenile statement.
May he burn in hell without food or water.
I was told it would have no legal standing in Greers court. It would only apply to the Church. That was already hashed over when her parents requested a divorce for Terri earlier this month. Go figure.
I think there was an attempt of murder.....
Hmmmm... then why do so many other husbands chose murder over divorce???/ Is it that Terri would get half of his property, and he might be forced to provide spousal support?
Do you know if Michael Schiavo had conjugal visitation rights with Theresa?
"It DOESN'T MATTER! He is the guardian! Even if she never said a word either way, he's the guardian!"
So, what you're saying, then, is that your name, "Trust but Verify" is just three words that don't mean anything.
Exactly, why should I (someone who is not directly involved and has no right getting involved) show you anything.
Why not attack the citizens of Florida who's laws are directing the outcome of the case?
You being an engineer I'd think you would think things through beyond todays headline.
No Catholic would ever agree to cremation!
YES, Thanks Sandy.
DO you have kids? Are they under your supervision?
In Terri's case she is under Michael's legal control.
As conservatives, as believers in limited government we MUST defend property rights from the state.
Thanks for asking.
You are neither right nor wrong, it is merely your opinion at this point.
My opinion is, the Courts (govt) are the real villains in this fiasco.
I've done alot in my life that I will have to answer for. But on that great day of Judgement, I don't want to be standing anywhere NEAR Judge Greer.
LOL! How many murders of wives by husbands occur in a year in this country as opposed to divorces? Frankly, your premise is ludicrous.
